El Rancho was very clean and comfortable. I can tell that it is run by people with pride. The shower heads are high enough for tall people, which is not always the case in old motels. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets are spacious. Some of their deluxe rooms are more like a 1-bedroom apartment than a motel room, and have an attached kitchen and dining area with neat vintage built-in cabinets, sinks, and ovens. You'll love everything about El Rancho if you like vintage stuff. Booking.com messed up my original reservation, but El Rancho compensated me more than fairly for something that wasn't their fault. I stayed there with about ten friends in a classic car club. It was my suggestion that we stay at El Rancho rather than at another hotel, and I think we were all happy with our choice. I definitely plan to return. …
The rooms are excellent. Great beds, sheets, and towels, and everything is SPOTLESS. Amazingly helpful staff. We enjoyed having a kitchen in our room. They can accommodate trailers easily and will do anything they can to make their guests' stay a positive one, HIGHY recommend.
This is a bare bones motel. It’s old fashioned but cool. There are no real amenities such as a coffee pot at this hotel, or breakfast. There is a fridge in the room. The bed is comfortable, the room clean. Our room actually had two comfortable arm chairs, so I didn’t have to lay on the bed to watch tv. The desk staff is very accommodating and nice. Just be aware that there is no heat in the room ac/heat system. But just make sure they give you a space heater and you’ll be comfy. No complaints. We like staying here when we come to Boulder City.
When I called for reservation in June for a July stay, they were extremally kind. When we arrived the manager and the co workers not only were nice, but the room was wonderful, clean, yes an older place but clean and a perfect place to stay for a few nights. . 3 things I look for in a Hotel/Motel , Non smoking, not even a little smell. Clean bedding and carpet/furnisher and kind/safe people. They hit all 3. The pool was huge and even with multi family's there, all 7 of us in our party, plenty of room. They just had a issue with the air that had broken down just prior, but had multi units to keep us cool on a very hot July stay. It's a older hotel, it's been their for decades, but it had charm, yes hotels back in the Old Boulder Dam area will be older, but still kept up. The bedding, furnisher, was just fine. I traveled for years with my kids in sports and I will go back to this hotel and recommend it. Even the teen's who were there to help, was kind. Hard to find anyone these days near Vegas to go the extra. Living in Las Vegas I can get any hotel next year in July for the 4th, but I will be staying at the El Rancho if I can get a reservation. I'm giving this place a excellent, I really found NOTHING wrong with it. No breakfast but plenty of places in walking distance. BUT GOOD COFFEE…
We have been staying at the El Rancho for over a decade whenever we pass through Boulder City. It has always been slightly frayed around the edges but we have an affinity for classic motels. The rooms were clean and in good working order, they had a nice pool and the owners were friendly, unfortunately this is no longer the case. The pool was still out of order, the temporary ac units were cumbersome and inadequate only cooling the room to the mid 80’s and the office seemed to be in a continuous state of turmoil. Sadly we will miss this little gem as we won’t be staying here in the future. At least we can still drive by and see their cool neon sign.
Stayed at this motel for two nights but wished I'd stayed somewhere else for sure. Booked in at 3.30pm 3rd to the 6th of May then told No Pool or Air Con !. Asked for money back so we could stay somewhere with air con. But told by check-in Lady " The Boss doesn't give refunds ". So Got our money but no facilities. Grudgingly went to the room to find only two lights working out of 8 also TV not working and no internet. Went back to reception to ask if they could sort the lights out and TV. The Lady at reception said she could sort out the lights but as the TV worked over the internet and the internet wasn't working nothing could be done !. The room was boiling as temp outside was 85degs asked for Fan got two, Got a feeling the Air Con hadn't worked for weeks as the room at reception had louds of fans in the back room, On leaving I could seen the pool opposite was full of brown sludge and an industrial pump was hard at work ! . So asked the Lady if the pool would be clean for our second day ! Reply was could take days . So we spent two sleepless nights with no air-con no pool no TV and no internet. But were made to pay full price . So please ask if their facilities are working before paying as you won't get your money back.…
Overall the place is worn and outdated. The carpet and drapes needed a deep cleaning. They had stains of various sizes and colors. There was no hair dryer. Cabinets were nicked and scratched. One good thing is the water, which was hot and had great pressure. There was a family party going on in the lobby and little attention was paid to guests. A family member was shouting obscenities on a phone. It seemed very unprofessional.
4 of us friends stayed at El Rancho. We rented 2 of the 2 bedroom suites. Each of us had a bedroom. Each room had a refrigerator and TV. The 2nd bedroom also had a countertop and bathroom sink. A perfect situation for all of us to be comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. These suites would be perfect for a family. The main bedroom has 2 beds and the smaller bedroom has 1 bed. The pool looked very nice, but we didn't have time to swim.
Stayed the night with my wife, niece , and 3 nephews. The kids had their own room. Check in was easy. The rooms were ok. Very large, but could probably use some updating. We walked a few minutes and got ice cream. The town is very nice and safe. It was 110 degrees when we arrived. We went swimming in the very large pool. The concrete around the pool was a little rough and hard to walk on. But the pool was very nice and refreshing. It will be the reason I return to this hotel.
Good location and charming exterior, but my room looked old and shabby with stained carpet and curtains, cracked sink, wallpaper peeling off, etc. Room amenities included microwave (which was dirty) and minifridge. Multiple burnt-out light bulbs. Bed and pillows were reasonably comfortable. No soundproofing - you can hear street traffic and conversations in the next room. Bathroom with everything in working order and good shower pressure. No toiletries other than soap bars. Complimentary wifi (average). Good parking.
