Authentic original hotel, with museum. Lots of great rooms and plenty of places to eat very close by. The restaurant was closed, but we ate at other restaurants. The WiFi and huge suite was great, the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very small and accessing the toilet could be problematic for large people. The walls are very thin and we could clearly hear our neighbours nighttime activities! The museum is well worth visiting and the Hoover Dam is only a few miles away so it’s a great base.
Stayed 3 nights here. Room was large with a king bed and sitting area along with a microwave, sink, little bar area and mini fridge. The hotel is within walking distance of everything in the historic district which is fantastic! The restaurant was closed so that was a bummer, but do check out Cleveland's speakeasy in the basement. My only complaint is the soap and shampoo provided need to be a bit more soapy. Could never seem to get enough bubble in either. One day our room did not get cleaned even though we had a sign on it to clean it and our first day we had put in notice at the front that one of the two TVs did not work, but never really got fixed til we brought it up again. Other than that, if you are into historic hotels, you should book a stay here.
Wouldn't stay anywhere else while in this delightful town of Boulder City. LOVED the history, decor and the attention to detail at this hotel. The location, cleanliness and customer service was fantastic, the people were wonderful and the "speakeasy" bar in the basement...outstanding!....Karen is an absolute delight, makes wicked drinks and will be forever in my heart! Thank you to the staff at Boulder Dam Hotel for making our stay a fantastic one!
This might be your choice. On the upside, lots of history to be learned, the AC worked well, the desk employee was friendly, room clean, good towels and bed comfy. That was balanced by cracks in ceiling, no refrigerator, almost non-existent WIFI, outdated plumbing, inoperative ice machine, closed on-site restaurant, small shower and no ground floor rooms. This was not our first choice but we were directed here as a comparable option. In our opinion it was not and we'll look elsewhere in the future.
I have stayed here before and would do so again. The hotel is quiet and the rooms are large with comfortable beds and everything one needs. Easy access from the highway. Plus it isn't in Vegas so you get to avoid the traffic and commotion.
I arrived later in the night than expected, to a lovely warm welcome from Megan who checked me in then showed me where to make hot tea - lovely. The hotel is easy to find and in a great location for shops and restaurants nearby. It’s a lovely historic building with a small museum inside.
Beautiful historic hotel with unique old-fashioned details that made the room feel homey. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. There was live music across the street that we listened to with our windows open during the night. There was also an interesting museum in the hotel regarding the building of the Hoover Dam. We really enjoyed our stay and would come again.
This is a great place to stay when in Boulder City. You are right in the middle of town and everything is in walking distance. The Hoover Dam will take a car ride but it is nor far away. I have stayed here several times and it is my go to place. Note, the hotel around the time they were building the Hoover Dam. So, the rooms are not going to be large. Of course, this is the charm of staying here. They have a restaurant for breakfast and lunch. They are currently closed on Monday and Tuesday. The restaurant is a good place to eat in a great environment. There is a museum on site focusing on the construction of Hoover Dam. There is an Art store on site with paintings available for purchase from local artists. They also have a "speakeasy style lounge" called Clevelander. It is downstairs. It is a really neat place to go. They have music on certain nights. You need to check on the days of operation and the days when they have music. I was there Sunday and it was quite entertaining. There was a husband/wife team where he played the saxophone and she ran the show. It was quite fun. It was a great stay as always.…
Stayed at this hotel with spouse for holiday getaway. Chose Boulder Dam Hotel for the historic charm and great price. Place did not disappoint with a complete 1930s decor throughout the hotel. Rooms still had air conditioning and flat screen. Location was great in the middle of downtown area and within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Overall great price for the charm and location. Highly recommended.
The city of Boulder City is so nice! Because we stayed at the Boulder City Hotel, we could walk to supper and have breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We have three rooms for our group. The king suit was big enough to play cards on the little table. The queen rooms are very small. A couple can stay comfortably, but a family would be cramped. Remember, it’s an old hotel. It smells a little old, but the people are nice and the area quaint.
