Do not listen to bad reviews on this motel. It is the greatest place with the friendliest people you will ever meet. We have stayed here for the past two yrs and I promise you, you will never be find a more caring, friendly atmosphere! Rooms are clean, modern and it's very peaceful.
We spent 2 nights here. Our first night, the people in the room on one side were loud until at least 11 on, then around 2 am they went outside to get something from their car and the alarm went off. Took them a long time to turn it off. Then one of them left in the car around 3. Then the folks on the other side started being sick in the bathroom around 3 am (that's what it sounded like) and finally got up and left around 4 am. Tonight, we noticed one couple was cooking dinner just outside their door (camp stove maybe, we could smell their dinner) and as we returned from dinner, the guy in unit #1 was blasting rap music across the parking lot. This motel has really charming rooms and is very clean, but if you want decent sleep, forget it. The clientele is sketchy at best! If you decide to stay here, have good earplugs and double-lock the door. …
This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at in my life. There was a used condom under the bed, urine on the toilet seat, pubic hairs in the bed, and roaches. In addition it reeked of smoke and when I told management they refused to give me a refund. I ended up speaking with a Boulder City local and they told me that this hotel has a reputation for this. They had family stay here and they had a similar experience. I don’t usually leave reviews but wanted to spare others from this disgusting place!!!!
I wasn't expecting much because of the quality of the other rooms along our route, but my husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the room. It was even more comfortable than the $160/night room we had in Everett WA. Large space, plenty of drawers and nice, well-lit dressing area. Plus it had all the amenities that a room should have like coffee, toiletries, fridge, and microwave. I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone traveling through this area!
Don't let the name motel fool you. My room was clean and up to date, with modern finishings that honestly put other chain hotels to shame with their dated rooms. The bed was comfortable, a top factor for any lodging, and I can't really find anything bad to say about the Sands Motel. Staff was extremely friendly as well. Don't waste your money on chain hotels, come here!
I stayed on a cross-country trip and am so glad I came to stay here! The rooms look like new; they are very clean, plenty large, and very comfortable to stay in. Cleanliness is the biggest thing I look for in a stay, and this one was spotless. Location was amazing too!
This motel was such a great surprise. The room was spacious!! Extremely spotless! The bed was comfortable. Theresa who owns or manages the place is a delightful person. You can't ask for more if you are in the area. We stayed here because we were kayaking with Kayak Lake Mead the next day and the Sands Motel helped to make this a fabulous little getaway. We have recommended it to a friend and anytime we are headed to the LAS airport, this is where we will stay! In general, we like 4 * boutique hotels but this has Route 66 type character with all the latest amenities. A kitchenette is included!
Fantastic bargain for the price. Decorations are nicely appointed. Hanging large screen television. Fairly small room but no complaints. Would highly recommend this property. Location is nice and there are restaurants and other shops within walking distance.
This old-school motor lodge obviously got a nice remodel at some point in time. The rooms are very cute and well put together. But there are still issues. The bathrooms are very small and tight. The shower is claustrophobic and the hot water takes a bit to heat up. The noise comes through the walls easily. I could hear people until late. I had to put in earplugs to get to sleep. On the plus side, the wi-fi worked really well and you can walk to restaurants and stores. Also, the staff I interacted with were very friendly.
Rooms were clean and the water was hot. Nice shower. Great location if you're going to walk around Boulder City. Parking is for guests only and there's room if you're pulling a large boat or U-Haul. Bed was okay, mattress was a little stiff, but comfy. Kind of quirky with the electrical conduit outside the walls, but going through the brick was not an option. Staff was friendly.
