I booked the Bastide Rose because it was highly recommended by friends and because, as a history buff, I was curious to see the property that was owned by the family of Pierre Salinger, JFK's press secretary. The property was gorgeous and the rooms well appointed with all the comforts you could ask for. The staff was wonderful and anxious... More

Thank you for your comments they go straight to my heart, it was a pleasure to share with you some of Pierre's life details that as a "history buff"" you appreciated. The presence of Pierre is everywhere, in my life and at la Bastide Rose and it is wonderful that you knew so many things.I must say the twenty years... More

Two days in this little heaven on earth. Enjoyed every minute. Poppy is a wonderful person making you feel like a friend invited in her home. Her son is making the most wonderful cuisine. I would go back tomorrow if I could.

A former water mill operated by Italian marble artisans, La Bastide Rose now offers exceptional and intuitively personalized hospitality in picturesque surroundings. It was 15 years ago when I first stayed at Bastide, which was featured in a Departures Magazine issue on Provence. Bastide had made such a lasting impression in my young adult mind that last fall when I... More

We ended up here for dinner on the recommendation of our B&B host just down the road. My husband panicked when we were asked what we do not like to eat as there is no menu and the chef prepares whatever is fresh and available. So off we traipsed under the French moonlight to La Bastide Rose - and one... More

We booked a "package" of an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. The hotel was lovely and our room light and airy with a great shower and a towelling bath robe. It was on the 3rd floor so it is a good idea to let them know if you have any mobility problems. Breakfast was great with eggs and orange... More

We came to La Bastide Rose on the recommendation of another hotelier in the area and were delighted he sent us here. Poppy, the proprietor, is amusing, interesting and was eager to make sure our time was spectacular (it was!). It is next to the museum of Pierre Salinger, the press secretary for John F. Kennedy and a reporter for... More

My wife and I returned for our third visit to Bastide Rose in May. As expected it was a sure delight. The setting is magical and the room was so airy and relaxing. A very friendly bed and breakfast in the heart of Provence. A lovely location on the river Sorgue. Large rooms which are thankfully air conditioned as we stayed on one of the hottest weekends. Owner is very friendly and helpful in making your stay comfortable. Good base to stay to see the surrounding area.

La Bastide Rose is a wonderful little piece of heaven. Poppy, Alexander and Emmanuel welcomed us warmly and made our two nights there a delight. The sculpture garden is surprising and delightful; and the Musee Pierre Salinger is a treat for an old guy who grew up in the DC area and remembers him well. The rooms are comfortable and... More
