In a private mansion in the heart of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, city of antique dealers, between Avignon and the Luberon. A secret and authentic spot: La Prévôté, in a former 17th century convent nestles on a small street behind the church. Under its vault, a wrought iron gate shelters from curious eyes this exceptional residence where Séverine and Jean-Marie welcome you. Cosy Wine Bar over the river - Gourmet dining in front of the fireplace in winter or in the inner courtyard in summer - Refined B&B rooms. A place to discover, for a different type of stay, away from the world, where only pleasure is in season.

Very nice dinner although my main course portion was tiny - about 3 mouthfuls! But appetiser and amouse bouche to pad out the courses. Lovely friendly service in a beautiful courtyard. Quite an expensive dinner with only one set menu choice

We arranged our trip through a third party sadly with quite variable accommodation. We stayed at La Prevote twice in our travels, the first in an attic room that was fine accept the sink was in a dark spot thus precluding shaving or make up and you couldn’t easily stand in the bathroom. Fortunately, the second was much more acceptable - a pleasant room with more comfort and a bathroom that worked well. It is an nice little family run hotel in the centre of town with its own courtyard and stream; and one had a feeling that they cared about your experience. All the family and their staff were friendly, helpful and spoke some English - especially the owners - better than our French. What really stood out, however, was their restaurant. Dinner on our arrival night was a greatest surprise and well worth getting washed and changed for. The menu offered interesting choices, including a degustation, with impressive execution of both the food preparation and its presentation. This must presumably be attributed to the owner-chef who appears to know what he is doing. La Prevote has been one of the two best meals we have eaten in Provence to date (we are still travelling). Service is gentle, informal but attentive. Breakfast was also another unexpected surprise. This provided residents with a wide choice of fresh and warm breads, croissants (including pan du chocolat), jams and local honey, cold meats, eggs, cereals and yoghurts. These were all of the highest quality. Service exemplary. A wonderful experience overall. FYI they also do lunches but they do not cook on Tuesday’s or Wednesdays which is not surprising considering the obvious daily workload of the chef. A great little find. I would certainly return there for a week if I had the opportunity and L’Isle sur la Sorgue is a good place from which to explore the Luberon.

We have stayed in other hotels in l’Isle sur la Sorgue but would now choose to return here. Very good price/value. We stayed in La Vigneronne, which faces the courtyard and has a large bathroom. Very comfy bed and crisp linens. Breakfast was very good and our server very welcoming. You can walk to all restaurants, antique shops, etc. in 5 minutes or so.

I did stay at La Prévoté for 2 nights at the beginning of June. The season did not really started in Provence and the village is even more attractive at this time of the year. The owners are a very professional couple and know how to welcome guests. I had to change room as I was traveling on my own, and the initial room booked for me was clearly for honeymooners (lots of charm). They change me the room with no hassle. The team is welcoming and friendly. The breakfast are good and generous. The rooms are well appointed and very charming.

A lovely hotel (beautifully decorated) located in the center of the picturious town of Isle sur la Sorgue adjacent to La Collegiale Notre Dame des Anges church and close to the main attractions, restaurants, .... If you happened to be in town on Thursdays, don't miss the nice morning market surrounding the church. The staff was very friendly – helped us with our suitcases upon arrival and prepared us light breakfast to take with us the evening before checking out since we had to leave early morning. Breakfast was good. Room was comfortable and quite.

Came back to the hotel for a second (and last) visit to celebrate our anniversary, after being here a year earlier. Upon arrival was told that our room is not yet ready (we specifically booked this room as per our sentimental value) and been given another one instead, only to be told later that there's no cleaning lady and being degraded to a cheaper room with no offer to be paid the difference in price or any upgrade to compensate the problem. The lady owner was absolutely unhelpful and pretending to not speak english. Working in hospitality myself, I know that I would have cleaned the room myself, just to pleased my guests and give them the ultimate experience for which they have paid. Very disappointing at what was supposed to be a loving memory for us. Restaurant is closed mid week, which was another slap for us and the place is a ghost house. No one to be seen anywhere. I guess they are not interesting to perform in their job when the restaurant in closed. What a joke. Service was not good last year as well, but this time was beyond believe.

Response from Hôtel Particuli... L, Propriétaire at La Prevote
Responded 22 Sept 2017
Dear Madam, You appeared with your french husband well before the arrival time while rooms were still occupied.I welcome you and propose a room available. You were free not to acceptif it didn't suit you. La Prévôté is a friendly guesthouse not a PALACE. I am sorry not to have been able to satisfy your requirements The criticism is easy to others, more difficult for one

In the heart of the old town this place is center to explore all the charm of the town. No front desk no telephone in room and no elevator. It is a small family owned French hotel with breakfast included. Fresh OJ and coffee in a French press with warm milk on the side is how I started with bread and pan de chococlate and on the bar was cheese and other breads and cake and yogart and fruit. The Sunday Market is spread out thru the entire town and is a must. We are on evening in the restaurant and the food was only so so with high prices and the is better n town. The shower bath was difficult to enter as it had a high ledge and I had to help my girlfriend get in and out.

I was intrigued by the fact that this small hotel was a renovated convent/nunnery and that the canal/river ran underneath the building and was visible in the dining room. It was very charming - they did a fabulous job on the renovation. The food was excellent. The staff was very helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
