Detailed Reviews
From the beginning of entering the hotel, we were blown away at the amazing hospitality! The valet attendee was super nice, opened our doors and made sure when we did leave that he started our vehicle and had it warm for us. Once inside it is literally breathtaking! The beautiful ambiance of the entire hotel and the character behind the pieces make it so stunning. The hotel guest service manager, Scott, was impeccable. He was polite and made sure that everything went smoothly and that we had a wonderful stay. My husband and I stayed in their visionary suite on the 14th floor. It was a corner suite that was huge! A separate living room and kitchen area with a bar area, huge walk-in bathroom with his and her sinks, the shower was a huge walk-in as well. Then you kept walking to the bedroom and it was a private room in itself. At night if the lights were to bright from the buildings the blinds are automatic and with the touch a button total darkness. Very sophisticated!! We were blown away at the catalyst lounge where we went for a drink before going to supper at the Dynamite Woodfire grill (ask for Steven or Dani - both amazing servers) which is our favorite restaurant in Omaha. Can’t say enough good things about both! Would give this 10 stars if it was an option! Thanks to everyone who made our stay amazing!

My husband and I stayed at The Farnam this August and it was amazing! The hotel is beautiful and all the extra special touches were noticeable and appreciated. Clean room, comfortable bedding, outlets in all the right places, night stands for every sleeping space, a mini refrigerator, luxury shower with handheld and rain shower heads, makeup mirror, separate toilet room, motion sensor night lights, and modern decor. The location was fantastic being right across the street from the Gene Leahy Mall and walkable to stores and restaurants and also to the CHI Center. All the employees we encountered were nice and helpful. We also enjoyed dinner at Dynamite and it was super delish! We would definitely stay here again!

You've described our guestrooms to a T! Thank you for sharing so many compliments from your recent stay with us, we definitely tried to be very thoughtful with our design. We are centrally located in the heart of downtown Omaha, steps from many attractions as you've noted. We will be here to welcome you back--hopefully sooner rather than later!

This was our first time in Omaha, and we wanted to try a nice hotel there that was well-placed in the city. The Farnam was an excellent choice, and we enjoyed our stay there! All of the employees treated us with politeness and respect, and our car was quickly approached by the valet employee, who was really nice, too. Although the woman at the front desk ended up giving us the wrong room number and we had to go back down to the front desk to get that fixed, the man who was there at that time was very apologetic and got the issue fixed for us immediately. When we saw that our room was right across from the elevator, we were nervous thinking that it would be a noisy night. I don't know if there just weren't a lot of people staying when we were there, or if it's just a really soundproof room, because we didn't hear a thing all night! Our room was beautiful, very modern, well-designed, and had a lovely view of the city and river. The only suggestion I would make is that if you aren't going to have any snacks available at the front desk or in lobby like many of the other Marriotts do, then consider putting some in the mini bar in the rooms. We would stay here again with pleasure!

A most disappointing experience. The staff upon check-in seemed confused, unprepared to answer basic questions, and couldn't give guidance or gave conflicting responses. Being a Bonvoy member and frequent business traveler, the impact of staffing shortages, poor training and subpar management is evident at this property. Guests paying over $300/night really don't want to hear excuses such as staff didn't show up, were running late, are overwhelmed, etc. If you don't have the staff and ability to properly train them, don't sell out your property. Amenities also not comparable to other Autographs. The gym was pretty basic and didn't have sanitizing wipes which are pretty standard in most gyms for wiping down equipment. Also a lot of properties will have a bowl of fruit or something similar for guests in the gym but not here. The grab-and-go had limited options and was shared with the office building lobby so running low on items. Again, felt very covid era with staffing problems and poor supply chain management though not sure if the cafe is the hotel or office building. Staff didn't have knowledge of nearby cafes or restaurants so you are on your own!

We stayed here for two nights to see some friends. The hotel is beautiful and the service was great. The one annoying flaw was the shower. The shower is fancy with a rainforest shower head as well as side panels. Unfortunately, the ceiling is so high that the rainforest shower mode never gets hot. The hotel also has controls on the water pressure, so the pressure was weak as well. We ended up having to use the side panels to get the temperature and the pressure we wanted. It's a disappointing feature in an otherwise great hotel. We come through town a couple times a year to see friends, and it will be a tough call on whether to go with another hotel with better water pressure and shower. Shout out to the valet staff, who were friendly and efficient.

+1
Had a short weekend getaway with my wife for our anniversary. When traveling we make a point of trying Autograph collection hotels when possible. So far they have not disappointed and The Farnum was no exception. This place was beautiful and had the familiar lemongrass scent as soon as we opened the lobby doors. Our room was cozy and intimate. The service was top notch especially the valet/bellman Derek. He was an absolutely outstanding worker. Always hustling with a smile on his face and offering tidbits of advice and suggestions. His service alone is worth coming back for. The location was central to everything we needed downtown near the Old Market and everywhere we went was an easy walk.

I really dislike having to give bad reviews but our 2 night stay here was simply awful! The room had several issues.
1. Bathroom floor had hair all over it
2. Vomit stains by the TV
3. Safe didn't work
4. Coffee maker didn't work
Once we noticed all the issues we walked down to the front desk and the lady working came to the room and stated she would have a manager come and fix the problems. We headed out for lunch and told her we would need back in our room by 1:45pm to get ready for a wedding. We arrived back at hotel at 1:45pm. The safe was fixed, however the hair on the bathroom floor was still there and the coffee maker still not fixed! We called downstairs and the staff apologized but nothing else was done to address these issues! My husband and I were in Omaha for my son's wedding and when looking for hotels I use trip advisor in hopes of making a right decision on a hotel. Derek out front was the only pleasant part of our stay at The Farnam. Great location but terrible customer service!

Modern rooms, completely quiet, high tech amenities (the shower!), but all the service of the best old-school hotels of the past.
Greetings and doors opened for us every morning, quick, friendly valet (Keaton), and amazing front desk staff (Julie). We mentioned it was our anniversary and they had complimentary dessert and sparkling wine delivered to our room.
Here for 4 nights and when towels were missing from housekeeping one morning, we called and those towels showed up within minutes.
Lovely, alive and happening bar and restaurant scene. Morning coffee can be obtained at the in-house cafe, delicious mochas.
Omaha should be proud of this place, on par with NYC!

Starting with the good: fantastic location, great service, excellent/restaurant, beautiful design/rooms/aesthetic, overall a really enjoyable place to be. Additionally, we were upgraded to a 1BR suite, and the room itself was amazing. Probably the nicest hotel room I've had the privilege of staying in.
The bad (and what compelled me to write this review): I had the worst night of sleep I've had in a hotel in a long time, and it came down to three specific things.
1) There was an intermittent cracking/snapping that would occur randomly throughout the night. I believe this is the result of it being a glass/steel building, but still, it was annoying as hell and was loud enough that I'd wake up every time it happened.
2) Despite being on the sixth floor, there was zero sound insulation to the ground below. Any time a car or motorcycle accelerated at the stoplight/intersection below the hotel, you could hear it. This was especially bad with the louder motorcycles. Obviously out of the control of the hotel, but still something to note.
3) Despite taking pains to design a beautiful room (with electronic/automatic curtains), the lack of care for removing light sources in the bedroom is absolutely infuriating. The smoke/fire alarm had an extremely bright light that blinked every five seconds, seemingly illuminating the room. The light switches by the beds all had little LEDs that were always on when the lights were off, making the entire corner of the bed glow. The screen on the bedside phone appeared to be always on, contributing further to the interior light pollution. And lastly, the thermostat - no dimmer switch, always bright. Had to fashion a cover using a piece of cardboard and a towel.
This hotel is super nice, don't get me wrong. My wife and I loved the style/design/feeling/service/etc. I'm extremely grateful for the upgrade. However, I'm on a 6 night road trip, and all I wanted was a good night's sleep. The noise and light issues were super frustrating and really brought down my overall experience.

Traveling for business, several weeks over a course of 2 months each visit had its own set of issues, toe nail clippings, what appeared to be beard hair on the bathroom counter, blood in a room, loud noises, blinds not working, heating issues, valet, food problems each visit to the restaurant.. missing food..chicken quesadilla with no chicken, under cooked food, rude hostess, billing issues being charged for items not used..the rooms are flat out not clean. Yes they have correct the issues but they now seem chronic..called Marriott today to voice my concerns over yet again another billing issue..They seemed more interested in my status than my issues! Spending 700-900 each each over course of a few months should account for something!
