The Hyatt Place Omaha Downtown Old Market has garnered mixed reviews, with guests praising its upscale downtown atmosphere and convenient location near attractions. However, the hotel’s ambiance is marred by cleanliness and upkeep issues, particularly in the parking area. While some accommodations are noted as clean and comfortable, numerous travelers report dissatisfaction with room conditions, noise, and maintenance.
The value for money is questioned, as high prices, parking fees, and lackluster breakfast options have disappointed many. Amenities receive mixed reactions, with a clean gym countered by underwhelming restaurant and pool experiences. Service is often described as slow, especially in the restaurant, and cleanliness levels appear inconsistent throughout the property.

Hotel's Favourite
the room was clean and very nice, the breakfast horrible--go eat at a restraunt instead--and the coffee maker is cheap plastic. We have stayed at hyatt regency in another state and it was wonderful all the way around. Only good part of this place in omaha was it was in old market which is awesome to go!

The hotel is located right in the smack of a happening area with quaint shops and restaurants. We were originally supposed to stay at a location a few blocks away but noticed that the area is a bit sketchy so we switched to this hotel.
There is a parking garage next to the hotel, $15/night, though I believe that it is free on weekends. Because the hotel is in a busy area you hear some street noise so I recommend spending a few extra dollars to get a room on a high floor. Also, in order to enter the hotel you need to use your room key. Sometimes people go in with you and if the front desk attendant notices s/he asks if they have a key. However, if the attendant is busy the wrong person could potentially enter the hotel.
We had a large room with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. The room was nice.
In the morning there is free breakfast that includes cereal, yogurt, juice, fruit and coffee.
If you want to be next to restaurants this is a good choice. But note that there are a lot of people around there so the area is not so COVID friendly.

The hotel is in a great location within the heart of Old Market in downtown Omaha.
Our room appeared to be thoroughly clean. Though we arrived later in the afternoon, we received an email earlier that day that our room was ready for us. The attendant in the lobby each afternoon/evening was always nice each time we crossed paths.
We arrived in the middle of last week while the hotel was seemingly empty. Due to COVID concerns, that was welcome. As the weekend approached, more people began to check in and it was common to come across people on elevators and in the lobby.
I wish the hotel would have had a rule mandating guests wear face masks while not in their rooms. The idea of riding in an elevator after a group (whether one person or a group of 9) gets off where no face masks were worn isn't comforting, so we instead opted to take the stairs up and down each time.
The WiFi was reliable. Coffee was available each morning in the lobby along with cereals, granola bars, and a couple of other items (breakfast offering is limited due to COVID, which is specified on their website). A parking garage is attached to the hotel, and you can easily enter the hotel via lot entrances/exits, and via the elevators.
While I did notice some minor wear and tear in our room, it appeared to be overly taken care of and well cleaned, and that is one of the most important metrics I consider when rating a hotel, even dating back to pre-pandemic. I would easy stay in this hotel again if I ever make it back to Omaha.

Location is fantastic. Beds comfy. Only one soap provided in the bathroom for both the sink and shower so have to keep moving it back and forth, that seems cheap. In room coffee, fridge and microwave. All the doors and elevators require your room key even the front door to the hotel 24 hours a day, so that can be a pain if you are coming back to the hotel with your hands full of bags. Poorly thought out sink faucet combination where the facet is not long enough to go far enough into the sink. You end up washing your hands right by the edge of the sink and getting water all over the counter. See photo. Front desk staff was very accommodating and friendly, really impressed.
All in all a solid mid priced hotel but do take note, due to the location lots of families with children stay here and there was yelling, loud talking, running and jumping on beds all day, till ridiculously late at night and started again really early in the morning. There is also LOTS of street noise even though we were on the 10th floor. Cars racing around and revving engines till very late. Loud partiers walking the streets yelling and singing. Definitely probably not the place to stay if you are looking for a good nights sleep.

We booked 5 rooms for an employee appreciation 'stay-cation'. All rooms were clean & very nicely appointed. Check-in was seamless & able to put gift bags into each room prior to employee arrival. Employee families enjoyed the pool time, despite covid signup times. Breakfast was grab n go style again due to covid. Staff were very attentive, even repairing a broken bracelet!

Took my wife to Omaha for world famous steaks for her 50th Birthday. When booking the roomtwo months prior I requested East facing high floor so we could overlook the Old Market and Ted & Walley's. I also requested extra towels since I knew the rooms weren't cleaned daily. What I received was something unexpected: low floor, West facing overlooking the parking lot and no additional towels. My recommendation would be to verify with the hotel staff when you arrive if you made any additional requests. Oh yea - WEAR YOUR MASK in common areas; if not, you will definitely be reminded or sent back to your room to retrieve it.

Dear Underwhelmed707, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. One of the friendliest staffs anywhere! Quick check in. During a troubled time at Old Market, the motel's security made us feel safe. The clean room was very comfortable and everything worked except a noisy air conditioner that tried to come on about 10 times every minute only rarely succeeding. Otherwise a 5 start experience.

I stayed at this hotel several times and it always feels like home. It's located in an excellent part of the Old Market area with a convenient onsite parking garage, for $20.00/night. The rooms are nicely appointed and look exactly like they do on the website. There's a nice full breakfast every morning with a decent variety of food choices. The hotel is also located near some great restaurants nearby plus there's a very nice convenience grocery store right across the street, with a gas station. The Hyatt Place is very convenient to the airport which is only about 10-15 minutes away; very nice if you're flying in and out of the city. The rooms are reasonable for this area, but I would suggest not staying here during the College World Series,(unless you're going to the CWS) because all the rooms in Omaha are nearly triple the price then. Nice hotel, great location, I may see there there!

+1
We stayed here one night as an anniversary gift to ourselves. It was our first hotel stay since COVID begun. Overall great stay! $15 to park overnight seems a bit high but it’s downtown and secure garage so we were okay with it. Bed was super comfortable and view from the ninth floor was nice. We had an East looking room and enjoyed watching the sunrise the next morning. Breakfast consisted of several pre packaged items. I had toast with peanut butter, granola bar, yogurt and a muffin. They also had oatmeal, cereal boxes, cheese sticks, milk, coffee and orange juice. Not bad considering COVID. My only two complaints were the room had zero USB plugs to charge my devices (only standard plug outlets) and the thermostat in room 914 appeared to be acting up. It would click on and off every few minutes and made a clicking sound every time. I heard it several times through the night and morning. Overall, great hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The Hyatt Place Omaha Downtown Old Market hotel is one of the better values, given location and amenities, that we can imagine. Park your car in their garage, and walk virtually everywhere you can imagine over a short holiday weekend stay for shopping and recreation. The staff was incredible, especially in the COVID Era, in their friendly nature and willingness to go above and beyond. I would stay there again. The only reason this didn't get a fifth star was that the room, while clean, was a bit dated in that it didn't have a microwave. That said, food options were available in the lobby, and as mentioned, the staff was awesome.
