Hotel's Favourite
This is a clean, newer hotel on far west side of Omaha metro in an upscale area away from hassles of downtown. We found our room to be clean, spacious and mostly fresh smelling (we detected a faint 'dog' smell in couch, as this is a pet friendly hotel, after all). The location is easy to find. We noticed a couple of maintenance issues that should be addressed, and probably will be. During furious overnight rain storms, we did not hear a thing. Some deluxe shopping is just east on the frontage road. The excellent "Pitch Pizza" is only a block away, very walkable. Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate Co. adjoins the property. Immediate access to 6 and 64.

This is the third time that we have done a birthday party at this hotel and they have always been very accommodating. Specifically for this trip we had Derik and Daniel help us at the front desk and they were so great in helping set up tables and get trash against us. I want to particularly call out Daniel, because he seems to be doing a lot behind the scenes and he got his pillows when we needed it .
My daughter had an amazing time, and says it is one of the best birthday parties she has ever had.

I have been staying at this hotel pretty steady since May of this year (6 mos.). The hotel is clean, well kept, and comfortable, and the staff is great! Everyone on staff here are friendly and accommodating, and go out of their way to make guests feel at home. The laundry facilities on-site are a bargain at $.50 to wash and to dry. My Only complaint is that they could use an extra washer and dryer, as their is only 2 of each presently.

Although the hotel is spacious and visually appealing, actually getting a good nights sleep is next to impossible.
Aside from the strange gurgle like noise that came from my refrigerator, the air conditioner sounds like a helicopter is about to land on your bed and it turns on and off throughout the next making the room go from an ice box to an infrared sauna within each hour!
You would think that would be enough to make for a rough night of sleep, but I was also jolted out of bed thinking someone was in my room as I listened to every single word of the couple in the adjoining room. They could just as well been sitting next to me.
Keep in mind that I often sleep soundly listening to sirens and honking in midtown Manhattan and my favorite hotel sits on the runway at JFK so I can deal with noise.
I did not get a full hours sleep either night.
Stay away from this hotel if you want sleep.
Additionally, the service is a nightmare! I recognize that in my rush to get out of there, it was my own fault that I left my pillow. I get that one is on me. Regardless, when I called to ask if they could save it for me until I returned for a planned work trip in two weeks, I was told the following (and very rudely)
1) The room would not be cleaned until the next day so I would have to call back sometime but be assured it was going to cost me to get it back.
2) I would need to email the head of hospitality if I wanted someone to check for it.
3) A message could not be left for anyone to look for it.
4)No someone could not go check on the pillows before they cleaned it
When I did re-contact the hotel via chat support the response which came several hours after my contact with them “no pillows were found” and they didn’t even respond to my follow up or close the chat.
I know that hiring challenges have made it harder to find good people, but there are certain things that shouldn’t be compromised on when you’re in the hospitality business. I of course have moved my reservation in two weeks across the parking lot!

Hi Kari, I apologize for the troubles you had during your recent stay. I will talk to both the front desk and housekeeping to address these concerns to prevent future incidents. We stayed at the Home2 Suites in West Omaha on 8 May and it was not a good experience. The staff was all very friendly, which was about the only positive. Upon entering the room, it had a faint smell of wet dog. We were traveling with cats so I can appreciate that the hotel is pet friendly, however with a $50/night cost for pets, the carpet should be steam cleaned after any pet stay. The smell was more pronounced while sleeping, which was worse. The A/C unit did not work well at all. The fan wouldn’t stay on during “constant fan” operation and the unit was so noisy it sounded like trucks were operating outside. It also did not cool the room effectively. The toilet had a large and pronounced smear of dried fecal matter on the top edge of the outside of the bowl that was not from us. The floor by the bathroom was cracked which just looks unsightly. The bathroom drain didn’t drain well at all so the bowl filled up easily while trying to use the sink. The breakfast was also abysmal. Everything offered, even at 7:15 in the morning (meaning not at the end of the breakfast hour) was so hard and stale it’s as if they were made 3 days prior and sat under the heat lamp since. Any one of these things would have made the stay unpleasant but to have all of them in one stay is just shocking for a hilton property.

There's nothing horribly wrong with this hotel, but I had a number of issues that made my stay less than pleasant. The noise level in my room seemed excessive as I could hear TVs in other rooms, kids running up and down the hall, and my HVAC unit making weird noises online. This is not including that the hotel is virtually right next to a freeway with no trees or way to stop the noise. This is not a very walk friendly area as it is just a giant parking lot with a bunch of buildings and virtually no vegetation. This made walking my dog less than pleasant. I've been to quite a few Home2 Suites and this one is not as nice as most of them I've experienced. I normally get a room on top floor, but at this hotel they stuck me on the second floor right next to a lot of the families with children. I'm sure this hotel's perfect for some people, but I am very noise sensitive, so I would not come back here.

I was informed at check in that their room key system was down and would “hopefully” be fixed by the next day. The front desk had to follow us to our room every single time we needed in. This caused a LOT of frustration on my end, because I have a younger daughter that doesn’t like being cooped up in a room for long periods of time. We also had to have them let us in the pool every time we went as well, since we didn’t have a room key. Needless to say, we stayed 3 days and never had a room key the entire time. Because of this issue, there were times we waited 15-20 minutes at the desk waiting for the staff to return and take us to our room. On top of this, some of the staff was extremely rude about having to take us to our room each time. There was also one instance where my family heard staff fighting about how it was “bs” that they had to walk everyone to their rooms. The pool was green-looking and was so chlorinated that our hair was damaged and eyes burning for days after swimming. Someone was smoking pot in our hallway and it was so potent we could smell it in our room….and the staff shrugged it off. As far as the room itself goes, there wasn’t too much negative. We found a couple cob webs in the upper corners and the tile floors in the kitchenette and bathroom were sticky enough for our shoes to continuously make dirt prints and have that nasty sticky sound as you’re walking on them. We ended up just cleaning them with a towel and water on our first night to get the sticky off. Last negative thing I’ll say was that upon checkout, when confronted with these things, the lady at the front desk rolled her eyes and said “sorry about that.” And stated that she could not offer any kind of remedy to make it right.

The infrastructure is crumbling. First off the pavement outside is full of holes and crumbling, it hasn't been that bad of a Winter. Door latch on pocket door had been destroyed by previous people, it did get repaired by staff across the street. Light above shower didn't work at all. Passive bathroom ventilation/suction didn't work, held up a Kleenex and there was zero suction. The drywall tape reflects that also, it was coming off. A/C system, during daytime set it at 68 degrees and came back to a 62 degree room, night time it worked OK. Light, reading light above bed was barely holding on and crooked. Sheets on the bed were thread bare. Staff for the most were rude. Breakfast, don't get me started. Mostly out of everything and poor quality when it was available.

On a drive from Wisconsin to Palm Springs I stopped at Home2Suites, my favorite accommodations when traveling with Skipper the amazing Wonder-beagle. At first I worried when making reservations, this was the only Home2Suites in Omaha that did not require a 2-night stay for the holiday weekend. The service is always great. The room is super clean and comfortable and dogs are made to feel welcome! In fact, the usual pet fee was waived for the holiday! Thank you!

Excellent stay for family events. Melissa and Matt, were wonderful hosts and went overboard to help us out. They even set up the meeting room for a family meeting on Sunday. The room has a full size refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, and full kitchen service to cook in microwave. FYI, all rooms are pet friendly, but ours had been well cleaned, and we had no problems.I enjoyed the hot tub and large pool. Our room was very quiet at night. All rooms are showers only. It is right next to 180th and West Dodge, so you can get anywhere in minutes.

Not sure about the Midland rate, but wondering why you would not stay in a hotel in Fremont since Midland College is in Fremont where other hotels are located. It’s not very far, though. The breakfast includes fruit and hard-boiled eggs, so you could easily have a gluten-free breakfast.
The hotel is located in an area that has a lot of open space. Some construction going on nearby when I was there in December. However, in my opinion, you will still have plenty of space for your walks with your furry family members! There is also a Walgreens close to the hotel if you need additional dog food, personal items as well.
Please contact the hotel directly, as we don't have 2 bedrooms suites, but have multiple rooms that are connecting, that might help with your stay. Thanks
