The room was really quite large, which a nice kitchen area, king size bed, a convertible couch, a desk area towork, a large bathroom with a very large stall shower, and a dressing area.
I didn't get a chance to use any of the amenities, aside from the free hot breakfast in the morning (which was pretty good).
There are plenty of dining options within a short walk of the hotel, but the hotel itself does not have a restaurant or room service.
My biggest gripe about the hotel is that there is no room safe in the room. Given the size of the room, there are certainly plenty of places to put a room safe.
My other complaint is that I was not informed that house keeping only occur when you ask for it. When I didn't get house keeping service the first day, I figured it was an oversight. When I didn't get it the second day, I asked at the front-desk and was told that I have to request it.
The location was actually pretty cool. We had initially planned to stay in Downtown Omaha, but were glad that we ended up at this location. It was right next to University of Nebraska at Omaha, and there were tons of great restaurants within walking distance - right across the street. The whole area seemed very safe - day and night - lots of folks out running, walking their dogs, or hanging out at the many local restaurants.
As for the property itself, all the staff we interacted with did everything they could to make our stay wonderful. The front desk staff were extremely polite, flexible, and did everything that we asked. The cleaning staff were very nice, very sweet - always saying 'hello'. The breakfast staff were wonderful - my wife and I both loved the breakfasts - both the hot breakfast and cold breakfast items. The breakfast staff went out of their way to make sure that all the guests that came down during breakfast felt at home and we overheard the staff doing all kinds of little things - all the little, special requests that guests made - its the little things that really make the difference.
Our room was a King Bedroom Suite with full kitchen and an exceptionally large workspace area - long full desk, extremely long couch that likely doubles as a foldout bed. The kitchen, living area, bedroom, and bathroom all felt spacious. My wife loved the bed and the pillows. We slept really well. The kitchen was well appointed with a good compliment of silverware, plate ware, bowls, and all the gadgets and gizmos we needed to prepare meals or heat up restaurant leftovers.
While I was away daily at conferences, my wife was able to work full-time from the room. Everything worked well, great fast internet, etc.
We had an excellent stay at Residence Inn Aksarban Village - as always, Marriott delivers a consistently high quality experience.
Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The desk was large and proved to be a great workspace. Everything in the room was working and easy-to-find. While we didn’t use much in the kitchenette, it was nice to know it was available if needed, and the extra space in the kitchen was sure nice. Parking was convenient and easy. We parked on the street without any issues, but at check in, they welcomed us to use their parking lot located opposite of the street.
Overall, we highly recommend this property, we will visit again should our travels bring us back through Omaha. Thank you for making it all just so comfortable…
The hotel staff are helpful, but the whole place feels old and in need of a good cleaning. The vents in the living area and bathroom in my suite were dirty. The shower curtain was too short to keep water from getting on the floor, so they gave me extra bath mats to soak it up. AC barely kept the room at a tolerable temp, even with drapes all closed during the day. The breakfast was minimal with fruit that was not edible. Understand Covid limitations, but other hotels are doing a much better job. Seemed like Covid was an excuse for cutting corners.
This used to be a nice property, but it has gone way downhill.
The front desk staff here are very professional and trying to do their best at a facility that is simply not up to par.
Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable.
The kitchen staff was so kind and personable. They replaced empty coffees immediately and were on top of everything.
Indoor pool (no hot tub) was clean and a decent size.
There are a ton of restaurants and cute little breakfast places with outdoor seating. If you have the time, it’s worth exploring.
Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would stay again!
On the bright side the location and area are nice with a lot of fun things to do. And the staff was friendly but couldn’t help me with the shampoo problem. As a Bonvoy member, this causes me to reconsider Residence Inns for future stays. If I had known there was no shampoo, I would’ve cancelled and stayed at the Aloft down the street.
