We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Deco. The location is perfect for anyone who is going to the Orpheum for a show.

The hotel itself and the room is beautiful. It has clearly been nicely renovated. The robes were a very nice touch and definitely added to the luxury hotel feeling.

There were a few downfalls:
+ I have a Nespresso at home that I love, but the coffee from this one was terrible.
+ If you are a light sleeper, you will need to sleep on a higher floor. We were on the 4th floor and could hear all the street noises.
+ My biggest complaint would be that we had no hot water in the shower. It is a fancy panel system, so first we thought we must just not know how to use it. We looked up a YouTube tutorial, and it was clear something was wrong with the shower. It was only producing ice cold water. We were leaving the morning we discovered this, but I called the front desk to let them know. I was disappointed that instead of an apology, they just said “thanks for letting us know; we will have maintenance look at it.” Not having a working shower in a hotel room is a pretty large inconvenience. I’m not expecting mountains to be moved, but I would have appreciated a more concerned response.

Thought we would stay at a highly rated hotel downtown when visiting our daughter at Creighton. We were disappointed that our experience wasn't the splurge we were hoping for.

It all started with the valet parking when we arrived. Limited number of valet parking spots for full-size truck even when I asked about availability when making reservation. Had to search for street parking when returning to hotel after dinner. Valet waits up to 1/2 hour when leaving the hotel as well. Lone valet runner could have used a little help during the day.

Fan in room was very loud which made it difficult to sleep. Loose bathroom fixtures and burnt-out light took away from great shower with multiple water jets.

Had to go to another restaurant for breakfast with college kid since Deco's was unexpectedly closed. Culprit Cafe and Bakery was great, BTW.

Beautiful Art Deco interior with prime location near old market.

We stayed in the King Whirlpool Suite and although it was a beautiful room with lots of amenities, there was a lot lacking that I would have expected from such a nice suite. There were very few towels in the room, the bathroom itself was nice, but there were various spots that showed age, and the mirror above the whirlpool was covered in water spots. The staff was very responsive to our needs, but a lot of things I would have expected to be taken care of, simply were not done. The room seems to need a little upkeep to make it more desirable, based on the way it is advertised.

Would not select this hotel again. My daughter's wedding was in Omaha so this was the hotel used for the wedding party. We had many rooms in the hotel for out of state guests as well as those of us who live in Lincoln and cities in Nebraska. The front desk staff lacked personality. The phone in the room didn't work so I had to use my cell phone and go through a number of prompts to reach the front desk. The phone never did work. The maintenance person told me they would take $20 off my room charge - which never was reflected on the final folio. The rooms are dated. The doors are thin and have a visible gap at the bottom so you hear everything in the hall, including the couple next door enjoying themselves. The bathroom lighting is horrible for makeup application. The portable light up makeup mirror that is in each bathroom holds about a 30 second charge and no charger included in the room for the mirror. So you have to take the mirror near the window in the room to apply makeup. There is minimal water pressure for the sink, shower and toilet. The shower, while equipped with various shower heads, has instructions to operate it. This proved difficult for my senior mom, who I had to go assist in a different room. We reserved the mezzanine level for Sunday brunch with immediate family to open gifts. We had to bus our own table, constantly ask for water and coffee. But given that we had a party over a certain number, the server received an automatic 20% gratuity for doing the bare minimum. When you want a good experience, this is not the place to have it. Although they certainly made it memorable - but not in a good way.

My wife and I just stayed at Hote Deco. It was meant to be a first relaxing night away from or newborn while grandma and grandpa watched her. We thought we would splurge and get a nice hotel downtown, enjoy a good dinner, a little nightlife, and have a blissful uninterrupted sleep.

Upon checking in, we noticed our room was about 80 degrees. We promptly turned the air on and found out it didn’t work. So on our way out at about 5pm we stopped by the front desk to mention it and see if we could get someone to fix it. When we returned from our evening out at around 10pm, we found the window open in our room, letting the cool night air in, but the ac was still broken. The little tiny window wasn’t enough to drop the temperature much below 78, leaving the room very hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. Furthermore all the sounds associated with a warm Saturday night in downtown came through the open window. Including, cars motorcycles, and drunken bar patrons.

Hands down the most uncomfortable, restless, terrible sleep I have ever gotten. That’s coming from someone that’s used to caring for a newborn. I was very disappointed in hotel deco. The staff was nice enough, but the lack of attention to the room and guests needs us just not

We stayed at the Hotel Deco on our way from Denver to Minneapolis. We had never stayed in Omaha and thought the hotel sounded interesting. It did not disappoint. We stayed on the 9th floor and it was very quiet. Our room was newly renovated with a tasteful modern feel, very comfy bed, and very updated bathroom. The operation of the spa shower was not intuitive but we eventually figured it out. Staff told us that directions were coming for the shower and the coffee maker (about the best hotel room coffee I'd ever had!) We had breakfast (not included) in the restaurant on the premises, which was also newly renovated. The breakfast was excellent. Valet parking is available for an additional cost but we parked at the meters right outside.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great value and recommend highly!

House keeping is terrible (they only came by once in the 3 nights we were there) and hotel is not insulated well. Room windows leak air or make very loud crazy noises. If your on 3 you will hear everything that happens on the street. The front desk people are nice and try. The lounge is nice but the food is very over priced. The female waitress we had our first night appeared very annoyed that our large group was down there ordering drinks. The rest of the staff I came in contact in there was very nice and friendly. The valet/shuttle guys were also very nice. We stayed here due to being right next door to the wedding venue and was more expensive then our other options. Sadly very disappointed.

Dear Tiffers03, Thank you for providing feedback from your recent stay. I was sorry to read that our service was unable to meet your expectations, but I appreciate the detailed review, because we can't do better if we don't know better. I know the hustle and bustle of Harney Street can be loud at times, especially with the holidays, but it's information we should share at check-in to ensure guest experience isn't affected. I was happy to read that our front desk and valet team were friendly and inviting, and the compliment will be well received by staff members. I heard the offsite wedding was beautiful, and I hope you had a safe trip home. Wishing you a Happy New Year Sincerely, Elaine Hartline

Pros: Room had fun, fresh, modern decor.

Cons: At check-in, we were told since it wasn't 4pm (we arrived at 2:15ish pm), we would need to be a fee to access a room. We were told there were rooms available and ready for check-in; however, their policy would not allow "early" check in unless we paid an additioal the fee (~$35). This seemed odd and after we pointed out that the Hotel Deco website does not state this additional fee, could they make an exception. They finally offered us to check in at 3 pm and would waive the fee. What made this even more ridiculous was the outside temperature (heat index) was over 110 and they wanted us to leave and return in about 45 mins. This is clearly a junk fee for 'early' check in.

If I could give them negative stars, I would.

Update: After everything, we were still charged the full amount despite not staying there and being told we wouldn’t be charged. I called the hotel, the woman who was working never checked us out so their system shows we stayed all 3 nights when we were there for under 1 hour.

This place is NASTY and the customer service is atrocious. The lobby was dirty, and even though we were the only people there and had a reservation, it took over 30 minutes to check in. Then, we get to our room, and despite there being almost no one in the hotel, we were placed beside a room with multiple small dogs that barked constantly. The room had very clearly dried male ejaculation all over the nightstand, dust caked on the vents (it was fuzzy), the light in the bathroom was broken, there were no sheets on our bed, the sugar for the coffee was either already open and used or had been sprayed with cleaners, they didn’t replace the coffee pods, there was hair on the pillows, the floors were dirty, and the room looked absolutely nothing like the photos and was about half the size of the online photos.

Given the state of the room, we went to the front desk, because we absolutely were not paying $140/night for something that disgusting. The woman at the front desk was very rude, making accusations that we were exaggerating, said she didn’t remember us checking in 20 minutes before hand, and kept just rudely talking at us when we were calmly standing there not talking while we waited. After another worker came back with pictures she said she would refund the room so we could leave, but then refused to give us anything saying we wouldn’t be charged and told us the charge wouldn’t process. Well, we were in fact charged, so now we have to fight with the card company and Hotel Deco to get our money back. This is on top of us having to suddenly having to find a hotel at 9:30pm after driving for 9 hours.

Oh and cherry on top of the cake was that the only parking was valet, but the valet wouldn’t park your car or even acknowledge you. He just sat inside the door to the hotel on his phone. He wouldn’t even open the door for guests carrying all their luggage (because there is no luggage cart). And no, the valet wasn’t some lazy young person, he was definitely at least 60-65 years old.

Great location, a good bed and a great shower were not enough to overcome the dreariness of the dimly lit battleship gray hallways and sparsely decorated rooms. We were interested in staying in an Art Deco themed hotel but this one failed to deliver what the name promised. I couldn’t help but think of how many better options were available.
