When you spend your days in a waiting room at a hospital for a week or more, its nice to have a homey place to relax in at night. Sonesta fit the bill perfectly. A full kitchen, with a full sized fridge and stove was nice. A small dining area and a living area with a couch and chair to relax in instead of laying on the bed helps to relieve some stress. The bed was very comfortable and if we needed we could turn the TV towards the bed. The Bathroom area had plenty of space for both of us to get ready. Several closets and dressers to put our stuff away adds to the homey feeling. There were several Buildings with maybe 8 units per buildings. The grounds were well lit , and it was nice being able to park close and enter our unit without having to go thru a lobby, up an elevator and walk down the hall after a long day at the hospital. They had a wonderful complimentary breakfast every morning. The lady preparing it was especially nice. My wife appreciated the exercise room when she needed to work off some stress. Didn't use it but there was a laundry area. There was an outdoor pool and barbeque area , but being winter it wasn't being used. It is half a block of the main street so it was quiet and its close to several eating places. It is only about 5 minutes from Children's Hospital and there were others staying there that said it was close to the hospital they were going to. A little hard to find the first time, but once we were there it was easy to get in and out.

This is an older hotel that has obvious updates needed but they are trying to restore it slowly. We have stayed there several times because they are very sensitive to my wife's medical needs and accommodate us. My number one major complaint is the TV programming is TERRIBLE. Half the channels don't come in depending on the weather or which way the wind blows. We stayed one time for almost 3 months and fought with the TV the entire time. I am not sure why they can't make a simply switch to local cable instead of the out of state satellite service they have.

Hi Mich2338, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback of the Sonesta ES Omaha. I’m sorry to see that you didn’t enjoy the programming on the T.V., but thank you for bringing it to my attention. It is only through our guests' feedback that we know not only what we did well but also what we need to work on. This is on of the updates but unfortunately it is part of the last phase. We do hope you will stay with us again when your travels bring you back our way. Safe Travels, Josh Haber General Manager Sonesta ES Omaha

No complaints, friendly staff, clean, computer available and excellent breakfast.
Not much else to say. This is stupid that Trip Advisor requires 200 characters to post a review. I need 15 more. Got it.

Overall the staff seemed nice.
The outside stairs need upgrades, as well as many different things in the rooms themselves.
If you want a warm breakfast, this is not the place for you.
We had one thing left behind in the room, they told us they would call us back about it, and it’s been 2 weeks.
Dishwasher works well, they have a fair amount of utensils and plates, and pans to use.
Parking lot isn’t great.
As it is a fairly pricey item, I would like that back.
We even told them where exactly to find it.

My wife and i stayed June 23 thru the 25th. We were originally put in room 712, but as soon as we opened the door we were hit with the smell of stale cigarettes, and then we noticed all the clothes on the floor, and then someone passed out in the bed. We returned to the front desk and explained what happened and were informed that the manager had removed this person from the system and moved them to that room so it appeared unoccupied. We were given a new room, and it seemed like this was a normal occurrence because they seemed completely unfazed. We got moved to 714, right next door to the first, and this time it only smelled like wet dog. After the issue with the first room, and the smell my wife and I went out and got some disinfectant and cleaned basically the entire room ourselves because we didn't feel like we could trust it. While cleaning, we found stains in the carpet, gaps between devices and the wall, cracked paint, odd caulking stains in the bathroom, and a fun little sticky spot in our carpet along with dead bugs. At least all we saw were the dead ones. We slept with the door bolted, latched and blocked with the ottoman, because we were worried that someone might be mistakenly given our room while we slept. But, we didn't get much sleep that night as there was a group of completely unattended teenagers running around until about 3-4am, and someone apparently playing basketball in the room above us all night. But don't worry, it all started back up at 7am, and this time it included someone running up and down the stairs right outside our door for about an hour. But it doesn't end there, as we were getting up on our last day there we noticed there was makeup stains on the bedding! And then we found the same color of makeup stains on one of the towels. All in all, it was honestly the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel, and lucky me, we got to pay nearly $500 for the privilege! We will never stay at this location, or any otherocstion associated with thus company again, as when we contacted the email were were given by the staff about our issues, we never heard back. So we used the online contact form on the companies website, which after about a week we got a form letter basically saying, "sorry your stay sucked. We'll try and make sure this doesn't happen again." And nothing else. Save your money, go elsewhere. I would rather have slept in my car in a walmart parking lot.

The pictures online look beautiful and for the most part they are accurate. However, our room had many stains on the carpeting, so much so that I could'nt bring myself to walk barefoot. The area around the complex leaves a lot to be desired. There is no welcoming entryway and it didn't feel very secure. I was a little nervous to leave our rental truck outside overnight. There was the smell of cigarette smoke and marijuana smoke outside throughout the times we were outside which wasn't really what we were hoping to experience.
We chose to end our trip early and there was no problem with canceling our last night which was greatly appreciated. The front desk personnel were vey kind and were wearing their masks and following the guidelines at the time.

We stayed overnight in August, 2023. Check-in was pleasant, downhill after that. This is a franchisee-owned property, which means Sonesta corporate sells rooms here, but will not help out with any problems.
The room was furnished with new or relatively new furnishings, but had obviously been remodeled by inexperienced amateurs, and had sustained significant water damage (see pictures). Inside doors were split apart due to water damage, floor moldings were rusty, bathroom painting included two different colors. The bathroom door was cut out to allow it to get past the toilet!
To top it off, our credit card was charged for over $50 after we left (when we checked out, I asked if there were any charges, and was told no). Sonesta corporate "called and asked the site management to call you", after I repeatedly left messages on the local number. I finally had to have my credit card company stop payment and dispute the charge.
It appears that many Sonesta franchisees buy hotels that need investment and "update" them, with varying degrees of success and investment. Sonesta apparently does not hold them to any standard, and will not help customers with any issues, referring customers to local owners. There are complaints with BBB, which Sonesta denies responsibility.
If you must stay at a Sonesta (they are NOT all bad), then call the Sonesta reservations number and ask if the specific property is a Sonesta-owned property or a franchisee. If the latter, proceed with caution.

This was the dirtiest, worst kept up with hotel I have ever seen. The door had clearly been broken into recently and instead of replacing it they just screwed the pieces back on and called it good. It looked so tacky and felt so unsafe. You couldn’t even lock the top latch because it was pulling out of the wall. The doors, walls, and vents were so dirty and rusty. The curtains were torn and the paint is chipping off the doors and walls. When we checked out to get a different hotel they acted like they didn’t know about the door, didn’t offer another room, and refused to refund. We will never be staying at a Sonesta again.

Stayed here during the college world series. Our air conditioning didn't work in the room and it was so hot, but when we informed staff they immediately moved us. The outdoor pool was nice. The room itself was old and in need of updating, however it was really nice to have a kitchen since we were staying for 4 days. We did use the stove/oven. The free breakfast was actually pretty good and the staff that ran the breakfast goes above and beyond. Location was a little different, behind businesses. Nearby deli was delicious. Staff at the front desk was very accommodating. Overall, due to the great staff, we would return.

The manager, Rachael, is AWESOME!! Extremely professional, courteous and accommodating. She goes above and beyond the call of duty, to ensure I have a pleasant experience while I'm staying there. The accommodations are well worth the price. Additionally, shopping and restaurants are within walking distance to this location. I stay here whenever I'm in town because it's the best value for my dollar.
