Formerly the Aquila Court Building, built by Chester Cook in 1923, the structure was designed to mimic the Bargello, a palace in Florence, Italy, in homage to Chester’s grandfather Aquila. Named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, the faces of George and Aquila Cook can still be seen on the front of the boutique hotel’s building today. Here, you’ll discover the inviting warmth of pure hospitality in the center of downtown Omaha. This downtown Omaha hotel offers stylish rooms & suites located near many major corporate headquarters and offices. The hotel also features meeting & event facilities and extended stay accommodations.

Nestled in Omaha, the Magnolia Hotel captivates guests with its old-world charm and a festive lobby that sets a welcoming atmosphere, although some visitors have noted areas that could benefit from a refresh. The hotel's service garners praise for its friendly and attentive staff, with only occasional mentions of service lapses. While opinions on value are divided, due to some unexpected costs, the prime location near downtown and attractions is widely appreciated. Room experiences vary, with guests enjoying the historical character and comfort, despite some dated elements and calls for additional amenities like stronger AC.

The staff was friendly and the beds were comfy. The lobby is gorgeous and if you hit it on the right day, there is metered parking right in front of the hotel that is cheaper than the parking garage. Sundays are free, and we checked in on a Saturday afternoon, so we just fed the meter until 9pm and then it was free the rest of the trip.

The rooms are super trendy and adorable! There is a restaurant/bar on site that is open in the afternoons

We recently stayed the evening at the Magnolia Hotel Omaha while traveling East from Yellowstone National Park. The check in process was simple and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered some great recommendations for sightseeing around the city the night we were in town.

We had dinner in the restaurant/lounge and the food was very good. Our waiter, Rex, was attentive, put the customer first and took pride in his job. It was nice to interact with a staff that seemed to truly care and take pride in their work.

The king bed room was spacious and very nice. Although it’s an older building, you didn’t hear any noise from the hallway/other rooms and the bed was very comfortable!

Lastly, it was great to see the COVID measures that were put in place- mandatory masks on site, allowing us to park our car in lieu of the valet driving my car, hand sanitizer available, etc.

We have traveled to about 30 states and 14 countries together, and this was one of our favorite properties!

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Comfy beds and very quiet rooms - couldn't hear any noise from adjacent rooms or hallway. Great happy hour, and don't forget to grab cookies and milk in the lobby as a late night snack. Ricky was our shuttle driver to the airport and he was exceptionally kind - we enjoyed chatting with him! Looking forward to our next visit.

Traveling to Wisconsin from Colorado we typically stop at a hotel along I-80 out of convenience. This time we were traveling on our wedding anniversary and decided to upgrade a bit. So very glad we did! 2 miles off the highway, 3 blocks from Old Market District, across from the Theater (we'll be back to see a show when plays can happen!). Emily and Allie at the registration desk were so welcoming, offered us a drink at the bar to celebrate our special day. We were in Italy last year and the courtyard of the Magnolia is reminiscent of a pizza in Florence. Perfect setting to relax with a bottle of wine. Rooms are exquisite! Clean, comfy! It's a 1.8 mile walk or run to the Bob Perry Bridge, go and watch the sunrise. We have decided this is our go-to stop from now on!

I recently enjoyed a one night stay with my daughter and our dog at the Magnolia Hotel and it was a pleasure. Room and bathroom were very clean, bed was super comfy and the staff were so nice. I loved that there was no surcharge for our dog and that they thought ahead to give us a door sign that alerts housekeeping not to open the door and let the dog out. I can’t speak to the restaurant as everything is closed due to the virus, but staff put out coffee, fruit and granola bars in the morning which was a nice touch seeing as the other hotels we’ve been staying at have done away with all food service. I will definitely stay here again.

We've stayed in some very nice hotels in various cities but the Magnolia Omaha may be the best. The room and the view were both excellent. Originally, we had planned to dine in a local restaurant but we cancelled the reservation and ordered room service. The salad consisted of mixed greens and tomatoes with matchstick carrots and dried cranberries. The steak was tender and cooked to order with a side of potatoes and asparagus. The bathroom has marble floors and a nice bathtub, and the bed was very comfortable. Kristy and Devine helped make our stay a very good experience.

This is a good place to stay but I had a few issues. My room wasn’t cleaned after the first night. And the staff giving me conflicting information about different things. I was told by one staff member that I had to request cleaning and another told me the cleaning person missed my room and would be back to clean (which never happened). Also tried to order room service for breakfast. Called down and was told room service was only for lunch and dinner. But when i went down to the restaurant they said they said room service was available for breakfast. Beside that the hotel was great.

I recently met my godmother at The Magnolia for a weekend’s stay. What a lovely, charming, boutique hotel with the perfect location in downtown Omaha! From the exterior, to the gorgeous lobby, to the rooms themselves it felt like a step back in time to that classic era but with all the modern conveniences we’ve come to expect and rely on. The beauty of the hotel is only outdone by the beauty of the folks on staff.
Neither of us have ever stayed in a hotel where the staff cared so much about our experience. Every single person we encountered was warm, helpful and truly caring. In particular, Sue Strampe went above and beyond to deliver impeccable service; Sue made certain we had everything we could possibly need. Additionally, Jamie and Kristie at the front desk were stellar humans who daily exceeded our expectations in service and kindness. There may come a time, though it’s doubtful, when we forget exactly how our beautiful rooms looked, or what we ate on our stay, but we will never forget how special Sue and her colleagues made us feel.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to The Magnolia for an unforgettable stay. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the area!

Such a nice hotel! Friendly, clean, and intimate. I love that Magnolia has the feel of a boutique hotel and not a large chain. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The beds were wonderful! The location, a few blocks away from Omaha's Old Market District made walking to shop and dinner a pleasure. Will stay here again!

How much for parking? Thank you enncle
Answer from karlpage2018
Omaha, Nebraska1 contribution
Hotel only has valet parking (not too uncommon in downtown locations, since parking is scarce). Parking appears to be $20 per night (about normal in small-town downtown). Unlimited in and out, but may want to work with valets by tipping as appropriate. Parking on street is metered until 9 PM. This was changed in recent past (I think) ... so plan accordingly. But valet parking is secure, so may be worth it to most people. Valets are usually pretty attentive, but come and go times can be busy. Hotel does have some local courtesy shuttle runs, first-come, first serve. Probably limited to a couple miles. Long answer to short question.
