Basic, squeaky clean hotel. The rooms are simple. The pool area and pool is clean an full of flowers. Very nice owners. They serve very god and fresh breakfast with traditional touch. Very quiet. The lunch is fresh and plenty. Will definitely return ❤️
We had the best if expériences in this hotel, owner went out if his way to check us in in the middle if the night, nothing was too much trouble. Very passionate about his work, his wife was very lovely too. We hope to come back for longer sometime . Efharisto
We booked while Crossing from Italy. Owner called us in perfect French to ask us about what time we would arrive. Gave us directions because apparently google maps was misleading but we used Waze and that was fine. Nice simple bedroom. Breakfast by the pool in the shade. The people were all extremely pleasant. Tip : phone to book.
We stayed at the Hotel Villa Marie for 2 weeks from 25th July 2020. Because of the present situation we were the only passengers from our Jet2 flight who were staying in Syvota. The family who run the hotel couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel is clean and spacious. Our room was on the small side with not a lot of storage but hey ho, you’re on holiday enjoying the resort, sunshine and Greek hospitality. We spent most of our days by the pool, as we decided we had a comfy wide bed, with a huge umbrella and mostly had the huge pool to ourselves and it meant we only had to do the walk to the resort centre once a day, as it is about 15 mins but with an uphill climb on the way back. Breakfast was served by the pool and it was a surprise each morning what we got. Not usually a yoghurt fan but became converted- best part of breakfast! Plenty of tavernas, restaurants and bars to choose from around the marina and Main Street. Beautiful sunsets each evening over the marina. Plenty of boat trips to enjoy. Would highly recommend this hotel and resort if you want authentic Greek.…
We stayed for 6 days in this hotel during August although its price was a little bit high due to high season. It is a small hotel with friendly staff and marvelous breakfast. The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff change towels and sheet every day. There is also a swimming pool which we did not use because we prefer beaches. Also there is a private parking offered. The yard of the hotel where the breakfast is served is the best place within the hotel.
The hotel is great. The bedrooms are very clean, they combine a simple, traditional style with modern appliances (e.g. fridge, shower, tv...). The place is very quiet, close to a supermarket and the village centre. Breakfast is full and delicious, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I totally recommend it to families and couples!
The couple who ran it were very nice. The rooms are big and the view fantastic. The breakfast is good. There are a number of good restaurants behind the hotel. It is a steep walk up but the view will be fine when coming there.
We have just returned from two weeks at the Hotel Villa Marie. This is a small, friendly family run hotel, it has a gorgeous swimming pool and garden area to relax in. We enjoyed breakfast each morning, the rooms and grounds are lovely and clean as is the pool. We never experienced any problems with WiFi and we used it every night. From the Hotel there is a 15 minute walk to the harbour and approx a 20 - 25 minute walk to the nearest beach. There are lots of other beaches to explore which you can get to by foot, taxi, water taxi or the land train, however we enjoyed walking to them. I would find it difficult to recommed any particular beach as they are all lovey with Crystal clear water. There are lots of tavernas to choose from, we found a great taverna on the main street that served traditional Greek food straight from the wood burning oven, highly recommended. Sivota is a small resort, with a lovely harbour where you can enjoy a meal, drink or cocktail whilst watching the sun go down and there are some spectacular sunsets to see. You can also take one of the many organised day trips or hire a car to see a bit more of the area.…
Overall the hotel was quite nice: beautiful design, lemon trees right outside the balcony, delicious breakfast (although it’s not a buffet breakfast so not much possibilities to choose what you want). The stuff was very friendly, the rooms were always cleaned well. I didn’t like that the WiFi was very bad, especially in the evenings, it was impossible to use. Also the walls were quite thin so we didn’t get much sleep in the mornings. Take earplugs with you! Almost every day the bathroom smelled like sigarette smoke (probably from the neighbors). And there wasn’t warm water in the shower in the morning so only cold showers. So these things messed up the whole experience I wouldn’t come back again.
We stayed at The Hotel Villa Marie in June 2017 so this is a very delayed review! We booked our holiday with Monarch (such a shame they have packed up) and arranged to pick a car up from the airport to drive to the hotel. We wish now we had used the free transport laid on by Monarch because the drive took us a while and we had difficulty finding the place! When we eventually did we were shown straight to our room and had a rest before we ventured down to the town for an evening meal. The room itself was clean and comfortable with a good shower and a pull down mosquito screen. The safety deposit box was free (but it wasn't attached to anything!) and the air con was also free. The stroll to the town took 10 to 15 minutes and it is lovely the sunsets were amazing :) There are enough shops to keep you occupied and much to the joy of my partner plenty of ice cream for sale! The breakfasts at the hotel were lovely affairs, very casual, fruit, yoghurt, bread, usually an omelette or a pastry and orange juice. The pool was lovely and kept very clean. The weather was brilliant when we were there but apparently England had an heatwave at the same time so it was hotter at home! We went to a few beaches in the area and hired a boat at one - I shall have to write a separate review for that. If we get the chance to stay at Villa Marie we would go straight away, lovely family run hotel and a beautiful part of Greece - in fact we agreed we think it is far prettier than most of the Greek islands we have visited. The highlight of holiday was the lovely Siamese kitten Jerry in the fruit shop in the town.…
