What a great idea to have small shared pools instead of a big central one. It worked really well for our little ones but also for the perfect last dive after a long day at the beach. The location is good but only if you have a car since it is not in the center and you will most probably want to explore the area. The beach is nicer than most in the area and has a cute deck. Breakfast is continental with many delicious options. I’d only recommend better coffee. And finally the best feature of the accommodation is the helpful staff who will go above and beyond to meet your needs. A big thank you to all of you!
Our stay at Ornella resort was amazing. The staff were great friendly and professional. We were given the luxury suite which is an amazing 60m2 room overviewing the whole bay and the beach. The hotel has a private beach with sun beds and parasols which are available free of charge for the hotel guests. Breakfast was buffet, pretty good with nice variety. There is also room service with reasonably priced and tasty food. Cleaning staff cleans the room every day providing towels and toiletries. It’s around 1km from the city center and it’s quite hilly which we didn’t mind. There are 10+ individual pools which are great too. The only downside was WiFi which was poor most of the day but we managed. 10/10 would recommend!
There was one individual at the reception, which by the way is in the dining room, who was rude! She yelled at me for over 5 minutes not allowing me to explain what I was referring to regarding the tax. I was humiliated and no one has ever spoken to me that way, especially those in hospitality. The hotel was stuck in the 80s. There was water infront of our room but we had no idea where that water came from. The pool was never cleaned. The breakfast” buffet” was a joke. The parking was always full and we’d have to park 5 minutes away by foot. Don’t bother staying there. There are newer, nicer and friendlier places to stay at.
Hotel location is good and it offers a private beach. Breakfast was pretty satisfactory with a wide variety. Staff was friendly but the cleanliness of the room was basic. Shampoos, shower gels and soaps were not replaced regularly. The water of the small swimming pool that we shared with another 2-3 rooms was rather dirty and not at all inviting! Our triple room was outrageous (Room 6)! It used to be the kitchen of an apartment which was then converted to a room. So, we entered the room from the balcony door since there was no room door to enter. Right in front of the balcony door a double bed was placed. There was no space for two side bed tables in the room nor a place to put our luggage. On the other side of the room there was a small kitchen bench with a stove and right in front of it a single bed was placed. The passage between the two opposing beds was only half a meter! Having the balcony door as our entrance, we had to keep curtains closed at all times. Curtains were dark and minimum daylight was entering. WiFi was not working at any place of the hotel and we had to buy an extensive mobile data package to cover our needs! The bathroom was spacious since a washing machine used to be there, but looked empty and wasted. Outside our bathroom window 5 external AC units were placed. During the hot August nights the noise from the units was terribly loud, even with a closed window! The price that we had to pay for the room was too high (160 euros/night with breakfast)! When we reported our complaints to the receptionist, we expected to have a discount since there were no other rooms available, but there was no actual response from the hotel management! Judging from photos in the web, there are much better rooms in the hotel at the same price!…
i will start with teh positive facts which are the nice enviroment of syvota which is something like the caribic or the maldives coming back to the hotel, it is clean but.. the beach seaside is not a private one as stated but 1. it is shared with another hotel, 2. and everyone living at the rooms to let or even the ones who are comminmg form other places from greece visiting for the day everyone but really everyone has the right to come (its a greek rule i have been told from those people that everyone should have access to the seasides) so this is a lie!! they state that people cpmmimng from outside are their friends but this is not true and tehy also state that tehy are charged 15 euros but please show us teh receits!! i never saw anyone paying for that because appartenlt they can not charge in any case the statement private seaside is a lie!!! the private pools are not one to every room but they are shared within 3 rooms minimim i guess, it would be better if the rooms shared each pool would have a note in the room stating which rooms share which pool - there is definately no beach bar, there is just a bar at teh garden and a girl is running the whole day orders back and forth -breakfast average at teh same room where teh reception is located, (very clean toilets at the reception) - i saw at tehir booklet that they can book you a dinenr at a sailing boat, i have asked and they did not even have the number of a simple boat! i was told to go to syvota village and find out myself -teh grass was mowned everywhere but underneath teh 4 tables at teh bar.. too lazy to move the tables away?? moskitos were the end result all in all this could be a gem!! witha little bit of an efffort (take away the damaged furniture from the seaside etc) -except form the cleaning ladies and the girl at teh seaside, people were reluctant in smilinmg saying goodmorning, they were not rude but they were not friendy either..this does not cst money, smile! greed!! if the beach would eb really private this could be a paradise on earth if they could arrange sme boat trips from teh hotel and not sending you to the vilage which is a nightmare finding a parking spot, this could really eb haeven on earth!!…
First of all the location of the hotel is perfect, since you are so close to everything. The room was very clean (housekeeping every day and change of towels) and very comfortable. Delicious breakfast with very friendly staff always ready to help you. Beach of the hotel is almost private and very quiet so you can relax and enjoy the view. We had a wonderful week staying in this hotel and I highly recommend it to everyone who wishes to relax and enjoy 😎😎😎.
i stayed there for one day only, so i didn't check about food etc, but my room was fine, the private pool was next to my room, in front of the door and i liked the private beach where i went in the evening & was really quiet! breakfast was nice and the staff friendly. i would go there again!
Our room had a nice view, our friends not so much even though we paid the same price. We didn't use the private pools that were fine but quite small. As for access to the rooms I wouldn't recommend you to stay here if you have small kids, too many stairs and too much uphill walking. The rooms were clean, but very dark and lighting was terrible. The rooms were very poorly equiped, the tv small and had very bad picture and the free wifi was not accessible anywhere except for the reception area. The bed was squeaking and the toilet was flushing(dripping) non-stop. The a/c was old and not very quiet although it did work fine. The parking although private was awful, no shade, uneven ground and difficult access to the room. The breakfast buffet was ok but nothing impressive considering the price we paid. In general it was not worth the price you pay and a heads up for hidden fees like extra taxes and extra fee for the room service. The employed staff was very friendly and always smiling. The 2 girls at the reception who we assume were the owners did have a hard time taking critique and were quite rude when we expressed the shortcomings of the hotel. The reason I give it 2 and not 1 is the amazing private beach, beautiful location and the friendly staff we met other than the receptionists.…
The location of the Hotel is very good, and the view from our room excellence (the small island of St. Nikolas and the sea – see photo). The access to our room was difficult and considering the we had luggage to carry not so pleasant! Note that the Hotel had no luggage carry service. The private beach was very nice including a deck with umbrellas and sunbeds. I think that the cost was not value for money. The personnel very polite and helpful. The breakfast average, I would prefer more local products in the buffet.
1. No mosquito net, bugs made parade to our room, that was the reason keep the windows close all the time. When I explained the situation to the co-owner she replayed to me that is the policy of the hotel because visitors/guest the don't respect the facilities. Such of behavior unprofessional... So No Service 2. No Internet connection. At most of the places around the installation we where unable to connect due to poor signal reception. Explanation by the co-owner ... we know but we are unable to do anything, we are waiting for upgrade by ISP (mid of season!!), So NO service. 3. Beach bar: despite of the good will of the waiter, the bar closes at 19:00 every evening, we where unable to stay on the beach and have at least a bottle of water (we had to go at the hotel bar !!!). So NO sufficient Service. 4. Coming back from day trip @ 14:30 the room was at the same condition as we left, no cleaning. The cleaning lady came after my phone call to the reception, this is the result of low staff (doing chores all day from one side to another in the hotel). So NO sufficient service. 5. The sheets were short and they didn't cover the mattress 6. Unacceptable to have (in this kind of .... hotel) second day bread at breakfast. 7. No lobby, reception was at the same area with the dining room. 8. No insulation . 9. No mini bar. 10. No bathtub 11. No bathrobes and no slippers!!! 12. No plasma tv ..... (FJ 23' flat screen).…
