Being a luxury lover and hotel snob it was quite a culture shock. Is that a negative comment, absolutely not. It's warm and friendly. Old fashioned, yes. Small and tiny, yes. But it's just what it should be. View from the room is one of the best ones I ever had. Quite a good dinner, I had a salmon caught...

Great first impression, this tin house, alone in an open plain by a wide river and falls. Close to the road to Borganes, so not remote at all. Really friendly welcome from the owner's niece, who had arranged a TV in the lounge for the football. This was the night that Iceland beat England - the locals were charming about...

It was the first night when we arrive. Very good place with silence, fields around and a river. We slept in the LAXA room. We didn't ear anything during all the time we stay. The breakfast was very good and the staff very sympatic. Then, i recommand this guesthouse

Beautiful location by the river. Cosy restaurant and sitting room looking out onto the banks and estuary below. Get a traditional room in the main older part of the house upstairs. You'll often have to share a bathroom but the vintage roll top bath/shower is an antique to behold and it still packs a mighty punch. Decent breakfast included. Dinner...

We stayed 3 nights in this charming guesthouse because we didn't want to be too far from Reykjavik and the West of Iceland. We had to drive 1h30 to go to the West and do our activities and it was perfectly fine. The staff is very nice and I loved the location. Quiet and peaceful. There is even a little...

We booked 3 rooms for one night at this small hotel. Bergdora, was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a bit small, but this is Iceland... Breakfast was great! It's a good starting point for touring the Snaelfellsness Peninsula. Must be an even greater experience to stay there in the winter.

This place was a GREAT place for some good recommendations, conversation, and breakfast in the morning before moving on to Snaelfellsness! Bergþóra was such a help and the views from their windows are phenomenal. I will definitely try to come on our way back in the next few days to stay a night. Such wonderful people and atmosphere!

We loved this small, cosy and a bit funny hotel. Very nice to stay. It's an intimate, real authentic house from the early 1900ths. Like you are visiting local people. Nice original Icelandic dinner. Real good place to stay! Very friendly hostess Bergđora.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and it was very quaint. Our room was clean with an amazing view from the window, however it was a shame that there were two single beds rather than one double. We were also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights which was amazing! The staff were also very friendly, and always...

Stayed here two nights on our recent honeymoon trip round Iceland. The greeting was warm as was the excellent wood burner in the corner of the lounge. The owner is a local farmer and he gave us a pitted history of the former fishing lodge and how it came into the ownership of his family. The breakfasts are standard Icelandic...
