We went to this hotel with the tour we booked with. We did see the northern lights though it was a little brighter in the garden area than we would have preferred to get good pictures. Out front is not much better due to the street lights in the area. Very pretty location overall with mountains behind hotel. It was...

Dear Guest Thank you for sharing your experience. It really is important to us to hear from our guests, particularly when things do not go as we would like them to. I will address my staff regarding why they did not turn off the lights as they should when there is a show in the sky, Hope you had a...

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst touring West Iceland. Beautiful simple rooms with all the basic needs and comfortable beds. Great showers with brand products and spectacular outlook from the rooms. Access straight out onto the path and garden from room balcony door. On site hot tubs, reasonable by Iceland price meals at the restaurant and they also have a...

What made me initially book this hotel was the ability to schedule a Northern Lights call to wake you up if they are out. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to receive that call, but we were so happy with our stay even without that. The room was clean, simple, and modern. We had a sliding glass door out to a...

This was a really pleasant place to stay for two nights. Service was excellent and the food was great. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel since we were on a tour and did not have transportation. No regrets! Both meals were fine. Amenities were really nice and everything was clean and minimalistic - in a good way. Our...

We stayed here for two nights as part of the tour we booked for Iceland & enjoyed the stay. The location is amazing in the sense that it is out in the remote area. Perfect setup for watching northern lights (we didn't see them here). Beautiful surroundings. But nothing around in terms of markets etc. The. check-in took a bit...

Their room was fairly spacious, and their bed comfortable, with warm deluxe down duvet. The area was scenic, and this hotel is located near the quaint, beautiful town of Borgarnes. They have a well-decorated cosy sitting room area at the lobby. They had a nice hot-tub outside, but it was too cold for us to try it. Particularly enjoyed their...

What is so great about this very comfortable hotel is it's location. It's just out of town so it's nice and dark so you have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Not to mention the fabulous hot pots. I sat in the hot pots looking at the lights and loved every minute!

Excellent location to hopefully view the Northern Lights. Clean comfortable hotel with all the usual facilities and hot chocolate on the bar in the late evenings. Difficulty in closing the bedroom door without using force which could upset the neighbouring rooms. Good choice for breakfast and evening dinners. Reception will call the room should the Northern Lights appear. Nicely decorated...

We stayed in the Hotel Hamar for a two night Iceland stopover. We chose the hotel for its location. First, it is a convenient base for touring the west Iceland region north of Reykjavik. Second, it is outside the built-up area of Borgarnes, so it offered the potential to see the Northern Lights without distraction from city lights. And the...

Nice hotel in Borgarnes. Although it is within close proximity to the town, it took us awhile to find the actual location. The lobby and restaurants are well-maintained and decorated. The food in the restaurant is delicious but slightly on the high-end. The room is simple and clean. There is a door which will lead to the patio which visitors...
