The price has increased, but the experience has decreased. There is no breakfast, their service area is shut down. Their bar is shut down. The rooms had curdled creamers for coffee and no bath soap or shampoo. This is NOT Hilton standards, but it is Hilton's pricing and then some. They are also charging an extra fee for surface parking in front of the facility.
I had an unexpected trip to Cambridge to visit a sick family member. This hotel has been renovated and is really nice. There's a fire pit in the courtyard, a large common area. The bar wasn't open, but it looks to be very nice and the breakfast are (also not open due to Covid) looks great, too. Lots of art decorated the common area. The room was comfortable and clean. Mini-fridge and coffee maker helped with late-nights and early mornings. The best part about the stay was the staff, especially Yodit who was so kind and acommodating to my family during a difficult time. We will return and look forward to seeing the hotel when Covid is a just a memory. The location is perfect for walking into Harvard Square or around Fresh Pond. Starbuck's is in the hotel and Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are next door, too!…
Stayed because of location. However exterior is run down and not well kept. Food/bar area has been closed since COVID and cannot open because they can’t find employees. Rooms are ok and clean, but no desks in rooms.
This was a very "meh" experience. It seemed from the web site it would be a bit upmarket but in the end was a refurbished low end hotel. Good for a one nighter if you don't plan to spend time on the property itself. Pretty uninspiring and dark throughout, modest amenities, comfortable bed. Not a destination but a clean, decent place to stay if North Cambridge is your target.
Great location, vibe, staff and management! Stayed at the freepoint last week and we really enjoyed our experience. The front desk made great recommendations. The bed and room were clean and comfortable. It felt like a Hilton with a lot more flair. We’ll be back!
