Nice large hotel in a fairly central location. Easy to get to the Interstate, downtown and Logan airport. When we first arrived we thought the neighbourhood was sketchy but actually it was fine. We walked to the T station in 10 mins, and Cambirdgeside mall in about 12 mins with no issues.
There is car parking on site which was fine, quite expensive though.
The rooms themselves were clean, very spacious actually and quite modern. Our bathroom was huge, I don't know if that was unique to us, but very nice.
Staff were extremely friendly and we had no issues during our stay.
The breakfast was tasty with a lot of options. There was a pancake making machine which I hadn't seen before which was a pleasant surprise. The dining area itself was a little cramped though.
Overall a good place to stay in Boston, fairly well priced compared to other establishments.

Estella, Alex, and Brian at the front desk were all amazing. The service we received at this hotel was what you would expect at 5 star luxury hotels. The level of professionalism and dedication to service is evident in every interaction. We truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again. The decor in the rooms was a bit lacking, but everything was clean, comfortable, and in good repair. Breakfast was very good, with all of your standard continental breakfast items and pancakes available everyday plus a rotation of hot items such as cheese omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey or pork sausage, and breakfast potatoes that changed daily. There are plenty of good restaurants within a short walk and also a grocery store. We recommend the Lexington. The nearby train station was under construction, but Uber was easy, quick, and cheap because this hotel is actually quite close to downtown Boston and the tourist sights.

I was beyond impressed with pretty much every aspect of this hotel.Starting with the staff, from the kitchen, to the front desk, the cleaners, and the managers were all extremely friendly and all went out of their way to assist us and make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We also had some issues on our end the next day that took a pretty good amount of time when trying to book another night and they worked with us the whole time and made us feel comfortable, they did not rush us out like many other hotels I have stayed in in the area. Instead, they went above and beyond to accommodate the needs we had, and they were not exactly the easiest needs to fulfill, but they did. Definitely highly recommended

Visited between Christmas and New Year in 2019. The hotel was having a refit which I was unaware of before arriving, but staff were very helpful and informative and sorted out adjoining rooms as per my request. Rooms were clean and tidy and well appointed. There isn’t much around the hotel, but a short walk to the T or into Cambridge.

ACETT, Thank you so much for joining us over the holidays. I'm delighted to hear that our team was helpful providing the best accommodations for your family and easing any burdens caused by our renovation. By the middle of March, all our rooms and public spaces will be completely new with thoughtful and high-tech design improvements. We appreciate your patience with the renovation. It is true that within a five minute walk of the hotel, our guests have access to only the Lechmere T station and a plaza featuring a supermarket, drugstore and a few other stores. However, within only five or ten minutes more (10 or 15 minute walk), our guests can reach some of the best restaurants in the Boston area, such as Loyal Nine, Lone Star Taco Bar, and Smoke Shop BBQ. Likewise, some incredibly cute shops and cafes, such as Elmendorf Baking Co. and Curio Coffee are less than a ten minute walk. We hope we will see you again soon. Brian General Manager

Overall, we liked this hotel. Check in was quick and they were very welcoming. Room was clean, blackout curtains work really well, and the location was good especially if you need the T. it is a 5 minute walk from the hotel to Lechmere on the green line. The Lechmere station does not have turnstiles so you need to validate your ticket at the ticket machine. We were only there for a weekend (Fri - Sun) so we got a 1 day T ticket and were able to get everyplace we wanted to. Tip: When going back to hotel, take the train that goes to Union Square. There are not many places to get a bite to eat near the hotel but if you take the T, it's not an issue at all.

Breakfast was standard and was fine. My only complaint about the breakfast is that they do not have decaf coffee. Probably not enough of a demand.

The only thing I did not like with the hotel is that they did not advise us that they do not clean the room daily. I know that since COVID many hotels do not do daily housekeeping but normally I have also been advised of this when I have checked into hotels. It wasn't a problem that the room wasn't cleaned but it would have been nice if we had been advised.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you need to be in Cambridge.

I read on the website that indeed parking was limited and one may be directed to an offsite lot. What they don't make known is that while the hotel has approximately 112 rooms, there are only about 30 on-site parking spots. The offsite lot they direct you to is a mile away, there are only 5 or 6 spots in that lot (I'm not sure what happens if you get there and that's full), and I did not feel safe on the walk back to the hotel. I don't know what I would have done if I was alone. The streets were dark, with broken sidewalks and asphalt, where I almost fell a few times and in general, the neighborhood has a very unsafe feel when walking. The fan in the room was also very noisy and the windows must be paper thin because even though we were on the 7th floor, I could hear street traffic. It is renovated so the bathrooms are updated with full sized walk in showers, but there is really no water pressure. Someone may as well be holding a watering can over your head. I'm a big fan of Holiday Inn Express hotels, but I won't be staying here again.

Brian and his team were excellent and attentive. Brian in particular went above and beyond checking in each time he saw us to ask if we needed anything and if we needed our rooms turning over. I also left my suit and two shirts at the hotel after checking out and Brian located and sent them to me folded.
I would recommend the hotel and Brian in particular.

Although not a luxury hotel, Holiday Inn Express Boston-Cambridge delivers an excellent stay for its customers. We stayed there for a week during our daughter's spine surgery which was extremely stressful times for us. This hotel was the absolute positive of the week. The breakfast buffet is excellent that included a pancake maker, 3-4 hot plates with eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes; fridge stacked with milk and yogurt, multiple cereal offerings, jams and even Nutella! Hotel is extremely clean, spacious rooms, super friendly staff AND they provided transportation to the hospital and back. There was a huge tv in the room, a mini bar, coffee maker, ice machine in the hallway, nice size and clean bathroom with multiple sets of towels. They were nice enough to hold our luggage after checkout. There is also a little shop with snacks and accessories. Hotel is quiet. Although seemed to be situated on an avenue, no noise from outside. Nice thick curtains to block the light from outside. We applaud the management for their dedication to excellent service and going above and beyond for the satisfaction of their customers. We will stay there again when we go back for our follow up. I recommend this hotel without a single doubt! Thank you

I recently stayed there with my family for 3 nights. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The location is pretty good- only 2 miles from Boston. Breakfast was served every morning. A person behind a counter got you whatever you wanted. Nice selection of hot and cold items. Beds were comfy. The only negative was that the walls were so thin that every morning we were woken up at 6am by people talking in the room next door. I could hear every word of their conversation as if the were standing right outside my door. Besides that, everything was great and we enjoyed our stay.

This is a popular hotel in a decent location. Affordable and what you would expect for a Holiday Inn Express just outside the downtown core. Nothing fancy, but very functional

Breakfast was fine (liked the pancake machine) but it was often very hard to find seating, food wasn't refilled as often as it needed to be and tables were not quickly wiped down.

Sleep quality wasn't the best I have had at a Holiday Inn Express. The beds were not that comfortable and the blankets thin. I did like the fact that there were hard and soft pillows automatically in the room. I also found the room on the dark side. You can tell that the space has been recently upgraded and it looked decent.

Location was okay. It is convenient, but only "walkable" if you have 30-40mins. It is on a busy road which can make it noisy (and there is currently a construction site right across the road).

Parking was busy, but there were spots - not a hotel issue, but some very large trucks parked in "compact car only" spaces taking up two spots and / or blocking the narrow space. We were able to find parking each time we took the car out of the lot, but often it was the last spot.

Hello. We do not have a pool at this property. However, all our guests have complimentary access to a nearby full service fitness facility. It is in the shopping plaza next to the hotel and is about a five minute walk. Because it is a large facility, it does allow us to provide our guests with more access than a small on-site gym would provide. Sincerely, Brian General Manager

Hi. Our parking is $30 per night. If our adjacent hotel parking lot does become full, we do have an overflow lot close to the hotel reserved for our guests. We hope to see you soon. Brian / Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cambridge.
