Nestled on Sardinia's coast, the Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia receives accolades for its pristine cleanliness, from the spotless rooms to its well-kept beaches. Guests commend the varied amenities and the professional staff, though opinions on value and room quality vary; some regard the stylish renovations and vistas as high points, while others deem the rooms basic for a luxury establishment.
The lively atmosphere and remote, tranquil location are highlights, yet the latter may require careful transport arrangements.

Hotel Chia Laguna first captured my attention in 2012 during a virtual Sardinian escape on Google Earth. The stunning beach, nestled in a protected cove, and the charming hotel itself became a must-visit. Over the years, we have returned regularly, chronicling our experiences in reviews.
The beach remains a masterpiece - almost 2.5 kilometers of pristine beauty with untouched dunes, a testament to strict building regulations. The hotel, set back slightly, offers a shuttle service on golf carts, preserving the natural ambiance and avoiding the eyesores of beachfront development.
Recent years under Conrad/Hilton management have seen positive changes. The main restaurant boasts improved service, and the lunch menus at the other restaurants have expanded to include international options alongside Sardinian classics. While I personally crave a stronger Sardinian focus at the pool restaurant for lunch, the current selection caters well to the international clientele.
Staff is very attentive and friendly. Davide, the pool manager, elevates our experience with insightful conversations, while Carlotta at the pool restaurant amazes by even remembering our water preference a year later. Stefano, the hotel manager, is always ready to help and really makes us feel at home, one of the reasons why we always go back to Chia. Nicola and Federica at the beach both offer a fantastic service and advice on wind conditions.
Venturing beyond the hotel, I would recommend to explore the peninsula of Sant Antioco and the island of Carloforte, or lose yourself in the charm of Cagliari (maybe not in the heat of summer though). For astronomy enthusiasts, a trip towards Teulada offers excellent dark sky watching conditions (stop at the Nuraxi de Mesu pass).

Lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely location! Had a really restful week by the beach and at the hotel in beautiful surroundings.
We — two parents and a toddler — really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a King Oasi Junior Suite and the room was great: we had a balcony for relaxing after the little one was asleep, and for drying wet clothes. (A couple minor issues, such as a poorly functioning fridge, were very quickly rectified by the hotel).
The Oasi side of the complex has a small pool, and a playground for kids, and is a short walk to the main complex, which has a bigger pool. Neither is a lap pool but the Curio hotel (a short walk or accessible by the hold buggies the hotel provides) is great for this.
The two beaches were nice, with towels and beach chairs provided, with a decent selection of food.
Staff were great throughout — the cleaning staff kept our room immaculate, restaurant staff served up great food, and front desk staff were attentive and helpful. They were all lovely and friendly to our toddler, too.
We only tried the main hotel restaurant, but liked it, both for breakfast and dinner. If you have a car, Mirage — a 5 minute drive back towards Cagliari — is excellent and cheap.

For twelve years we have been spending our holidays at the Conrad Chia Laguna Hotel. The hotel leaves nothing to be desired and makes us feel at home. Spacious and clean rooms, spread over four floors and of various categories, overlooking the nearby lagoon with flamingos, the Resort square and/or the sea. Very functional bathroom, with large shower.
Very nice pool area with bar, as well as the private beaches "Le Dune di Campana" with kiosk and restaurant or "Monte Cogoni" (but without catering infrastructure). The beautiful beaches can be reached “on request” at the reception with the hotel’s electric shuttles and are served.
The restaurant "Terrazza" offers an extraordinary atmosphere. In addition to the spacious indoor area, meals can also be enjoyed on the partially open or covered terrace overlooking the sea and the “Macchia”. A rich breakfast buffet with cooking island served (preparation of omelets, pancakes, etc.) in the morning and varied menus served at the table in the evening, with fresh ingredients from the sea and land. In addition to the evening menus that change daily (starter, first, second and dessert), there are alternatives for each course. Wide selection of wonderful Sardinian and continental wines.
Chia Laguna Resort also offers other dining options.
After the evening shows in the square (first the children's program, then concerts, shows, games, etc.) you can end the day with a drink at the hotel bar.
In 2021, the entrance, reception and loggia of the hotel were redesigned. The rooms have also been completely renovated in Mediterranean style and with sand-coloured tones.
The hotel staff is extremely courteous and friendly. We have always been personally and warmly welcomed by the “Front of House” manager Stefano. Together with his team he puts his heart and soul into answering the questions and concerns of his guests. Even the teams of the restaurant “Terrazza” and the pool bar spoiled us with culinary delights and also gave us some good Recommendation.
The hotel also has a spa area (SPA). Probably this would also be recommended, but so far we have preferred the beach or excursions in the surroundings (Cagliari, Nora, Tuerredda Beach etc.). The beach offers the possibility of long walks (passing through other stretches of beach such as Su Giudeu to Cala Cipolla) in crystal clear waters and fine sand.
Finally, the hotel offers free parking and free WiFi. Vehicles, scooters and mountain bikes can be rented at the Resort and facilities for tennis and football fans are available.
An oasis of relaxation immersed in a beautiful landscape. Really a place to come back! We look forward to our next stay.

We visited early June so not high season and had 2 suites (rooms 5023 & 5024)
Pros first Hotel reception is pleasant and the reception and concierge staff friendly and helpful. We found all the staff at the hotel to be the same and they want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Spa treatment (massage) was a lovely experience and when having a treatment it gives access to the spa outside area and pools for free. Not sure it’s right or value for money to be charged €25 just to use the spa little pools at other times though. I have experienced this charge system in other hotels but I don’t think it’s right to charge extra to paying hotel guests.
Main hotel pool area is nice but could easily be overcrowded in high season. I think it’s assumed guests will go to the beach.
Main pool cafe is nice with good lunch options but again won’t cope in busy times. We had to wait for lunch on 2 days as it was “busy” but there are only a handful of tables.
Cons Rooms are basic and not 5 star. The “block” our rooms were in resembled a dated block of flats from the outside and there was no soft decor touches on the inside. The bedroom area was quite dark with no pictures on the walls and sparse furnishings. The wardrobe has a large sliding door but hardly any hanging space. It’s badly designed to fit into a weird shaped room.
Noise level in the rooms is bad due to lack of furnishings in the hallways. It’s just echos.
Bathroom is tiny.
Dogs barking at the property behind is an issue. I know the hotel can’t be held responsible for this but it’s something to consider if you are booking.
The village attached to the Conrad is like a throw back to package holidays. It has a big “village square” with football playing on a large screen or a poor quality dance troupe performing. I don’t know the star rating of this part of the complex but it’s not 5 star but is very much part of the Conrad hotel.
The main hotel restaurant provides a good breakfast but the evening meal is overpriced and on some evenings it was poor. I had a waiter laugh and say guests do leave hungry after I complained about a €30 sea bass dish. There are no sides served with this and the sea bass was a tiny piece. We won’t return and we don’t think this is a 5 star hotel though we did enjoy our break away in Sardinia.

Just come back from this hotel. From 28 May for a week. The hotel is lovely and it is very clean and staff very polite and friendly , but quite a corporate hotel ( large conference gong on when we were there) sadly a lot of the complex was closed so at times we were bored. Also this hotel is in a very remote location, apart from the fabulous beaches there is nothing to see or do. The hotel could have provided better information on the area , transport information etc. it was advertised that there were bicycles for guests but the hotel only had 2 E bikes at a high charge and there seemed a reluctance when asked to get info on costs of normal bikes . Due to remote location the hotel should maybe consider providing guests with bikes for a set period of time during their stay free of charge. Travel companies should stress remoteness of this location, we asked about a taxi and we were told they needed 24th notice to go anywhere. Can’t stress how idyllic the beaches were but sadly not a location we would revisit.

Very well organised hotel Staff greet you by name each morning. I was aware lots of families use the bungalows in the grounds and was afraid of a holiday camp atmosphere, but it is not The children's activities go on within their own areas, we were not disturbed at all The buggy service to the beach is brilliant. The families us the Noddy train No view from our room but everything else was excellent. Not a lot around you need a car if you wish to leave the complex Entertainment in the square kept us happy in the evening

First the good news. We enjoyed our stay at Conrad Chia. We were extremely pleased with the upgrade we received, which had a nice view even though the hotel was much farther from the sea than I prefer. We were offered a delicious welcome drink on a nice outdoor patio and there was wine and chocolate in our room. As a Diamond member we were offered a complementary hand massage and use of the spa facilities. Most of the employees were very helpful and accommodating, however, ,when we asked the concierge for ideas on a cloudy day he really didn’t have any. We had to figure it out on our own and the hotel is rather isolated so it was difficult. Our major complaint was checking in. This process was unacceptable. We drove up a hill to try to check in. No one was really there to greet , assist or instruct us on what to do and it was really too narrow to park (although we should have). We found a golf cart driver ( I believe his job was to transport guests to the beach) and he said we needed to check in. He pointed down hill and told us to go park. He didn’t offer to drive down and pick us up. So after parking we walked up the very steep hill with some of our luggage. No one noticed or came to assist. From there things improved but we were already quite frustrated and they didn’t seem overly concerned about it. My experience with 5 star hotels is very different from this. After the welcome drink we were escorted to our rooms while someone went to get the rest of our luggage from the car. The next morning after breakfast we we ready to start our day and couldn’t find our car key. After asking 3 or 4 people and waiting about 30 minutes they finally found it and we were on our way. I have never stayed anywhere where the bellman lost or failed to return our key. Again, they didn’t seem to be overly concerned. There was also quite a bit of confusion at dinner. They told us we had reservations at the hotel but when we arrived they said we didn’t. On a positive note, we enjoyed the shops at the hotel “village” and the gelato was delicious!

Simply perfect and deserves its 5 stars. Location, services, quality of food, and above all the willingness to accommodate the sometimes bizarre requests of customers, always with a smile. Professionalism, kindness with a pinch of complicity. Until next time

I checked in late and the front desk was very accomodating. Being Hilton Diamond member they were very accomodating and professional during the entire 5 night stay. The property is very well maintained. The spa is very clean and well appointed. The pools were all very clean as well. The room I had was with 2 beds. I always request 1 bed but they were very busy. I was able to have a private balcony and ocean view which was very nice. The room was easy to hand wash cloths and hang outside to dry. The pool staff stands out as very helpful and went over and above to accomodate. The restaurant staf was also helpful since I am plant based in my diet. Overall, a very nice property and I may return when in the area. Good job to the staff.

The only pros to this hotel are the friendly staff and decent room. The morning buffet is very poor with a little to none variety. It has few options from which to choose. I like a lot egg dishes and i was disappointed to see that they lacked variety. Also, the restaurants in the hotel are overpriced, and the price quality ratio is poor. Its disappointing that the hotel doesn’t have direct access to the beach and you have to wait for a buggy to get there because otherwise you would have to walk a few km. The fact that the hotel doesn’t have direct access to the beach isn’t specified on their site, which is sad and annoying. In addition, the pool closes at 6:30 pm, which me and my family find it very early, because we would’ve liked to go for a swim after the beach. The closing time is unusual. Overall, the hotel is bellow the 5* standard. I think you could find better hotels in sardinia with better prices. The worst Conrad i’d been to!

We had a very nice two room suite with one king. We had a nice sea view but it was much further away than I would prefer. It wasn’t expansive, really. But it was a sea view. The best they had, I think.
There are more places to choose from in the Chia area.
