What really makes this hotel as a good one is the service provided by the staff. When I made the booking via Expedia the breakfasts were included but however this wasn't shown in the confirmation email. I used Expedia's online chat and made a phone call but the answer was 'breakfasts were not included', therefore I sent an email to Mr Buhagiar the manager of Mayflower hotel, and received his confirmation that our breakfasts were indeed included. During a windy night our room felt drafty and the bed was a bit firmer to our liking. Ray the maintenance manager quickly responded and fixed the problems, and housekeepers placed a memory form on top of the mattress and we had a great sleep. Location wise it is very convenient, restaurants, shops, seaside and bus stop also nearby. We will be happy to return.

Good afternoon, thank you for posting your review. First of all I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. As explained to you at reception, we were waiting for confirmation from the agent as the booking we received was on room only basis. In fact booking sent to us and rate charged was for room only. To make up for the inconvenience we did offer you complimentary breakfast for the rest of your stay and late check-out. thank you and regards

In October, where the temperature drops to 13-14 degrees, the hotel management decided not to operate air conditioning system. We had our night in a cold room and without shower, afraiding of getting cold.

Good afternoon, thank you for posting your review. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. After you reported to reception about room being cold, we did change to heating. To be honest we did change back to cooling after your departure since other guests requested this. We try our best to please everyone which is not always an easy task. Today the 17th of November the temperature is 21 degrees Celsius which goes down to 17 this evening. thank you and regards

Lovely and clean pool area with plenty of sun beds (in October). Pool could maybe benefit from being heated and it windy and chilly at times with it being so high up, but put this down to the time of year. Lovely views of the sea. The staff were great, super friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble and everyone was polite and always said hello. I dropped a full aperol spritz and everyone was so quick to help clear up and they even gave me a new one on the house. Lovely room, spotless and spacious. Upgraded to a seaview room but we could only see a corner of the sea. Pillows were a bit too high, would be good to have a couple of smaller ones but cannot fault the room otherwise. Loved the rain shower. Hotel was very quiet too, never heard anything from other guests in their rooms. No complaints at all on the breakfast, exactly what I would expect from a 3 star hotel. Never any issues finding a seat and food replenished frequently. Would just like to flag an issue with the taxi service that the hotel used. 10 min late to pick us up to take us to the airport, private taxi but asked if it’s ok if we collect two other people who weren’t ready to be collected, so disappeared for another 10 mins looking for them. Not good when you are paying for a private service, plus the driver then charged both couples 28 euros each which was a bit of a con, even when we tried to split it. The journey should have been 28 euros altogether so I think the hotel should be made aware that the service they use (Bluebird) are doing this.

We had a superior sea view room. Non of the rooms on the front of the hotel get direct sunshine . The sea view is partial as most of the view is other buildings. There 198 rooms yet only 50-60 sun beds. The bar only sells cans and bottles and is very small .
