I love staying here. I have been coming regular since 2007 so I know it very well. Doina is a kind considerate host who will help in any way she can. She speaks vey little English but her partner Radu and her son Pavel are usually around and both speak good English. The rooms are comfortable with good beds. They... More

The guesthouse is family administrated and the owners are very nice. The style of the rooms is very genuine Romanian and it is obviously made with great attention to details. The yard and the property is very beautiful. The food I didn't like at all because every dish had the taste of Maggi or Knorr vegetable powder which I deeply... More

although we had made a booking, there was no welcome, we were made to feel that we were inconveniencing the owner. We made do with the single towel in the bathroom across the hallway from our room. Breakfast was mean - a request for a second cup of coffee?

A surprising pleasure! We were treated so well from the moment we arrived and had a lovely picnic dinner of regional specialties. The placinta were heavenly! The manager made us a special treat in the evening. The breakfast was authentic Moldovan and very good. Nice room in a peaceful setting.

Just returned from a wonderful long weekend in Maramures. We chose Guesthouse Doina based on what we read on internet and found all previous descriptions very accurate. Location is great, away from main road, surrounded by a beautiful garden. The room was very clean, had TV and internet connection. Food was amazing, very authentic and with great local ingredients. The... More

most of the guesthouses and inns around Vadu Izei are just on the main road, with no gardens or back yards where you can just relax, but Guesthouse Doina is located at the end of a side road, with a drive way long enough to "hide" the house from the road. it is surrounded by forests and has a huge... We just came back after a marvelous holiday in Maramures. We highly recommend the guesthouse Doina in Vadu Izei. The house is situated in a dream place, just in the middle of the nature. It has a large courtyard with lots of flowers ,surrounded by forests and mountains. We noticed the care for details every step you make, the best good... More

Our guide, Cornelia from maramuresguide.com, recommended Pensiunea Doina. Of the pensions we had looked at, we really were grateful for her suggestion. Many of the other inns in Vadu Izei are located right on the main road with lots of traffic and dust. Pensiunea Doina is located in a rustic setting just 3 km off of the main road. Surrounded... We recently stayed here for two nights whilst touring around Maramures and can't tell you enough how fantastic this place is. It is full of character and allows you to stay in one of the traditional houses from the area. The owner and staff and very friendly and accommodating. The food as the previous review states is all local and... More

this Pension is not easy to find but well worth the effort . It lies at the end of the 3km long Sugau street accessed opposite the minimart 100 m from the bridge in Vadu Izei .The pension is well signposted and the entrance marked by a bundle of flags. I have stayed in it five times and it has... More

“We didn't see the other rooms and so have no way to compare. I would imagine all of them are quiet because of the wonderful secluded setting. Our room was a bit small, but it didn't matter as we spent very little time in the room. There was also a balcony outside of our room and also a lovely patio below for everyone's use (in warmer weather!).”
