This review is LONG overdue! Last year my wife and I drove to Lake Tahoe last year to "air out" her new car. On the way northbound, we stopped in Independence and stayed at Ray's Den. We couldn't have been happier! Our room was comfortable and clean and Linda the owner was a treat to visit with...we felt like we'd...

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Ray's Den.The motel is clean, comfortable, and quiet. Linda, the owner, was accommodating and very friendly; we feel like we made a new friend. We plan to stay at Ray's Den the next time we're in the Eastern Sierra.

This was a great stop for our motorcycle trip and to park by our motel room. Rooms were clean, comfortable and the owner added just the right touch to make it convenient. I like the cleanliness, concern for recycling, right down to the shower dispenser with shampoo, conditioner and soap not to over fragranced. Loved the York peppermint patties for...

We didnt know hiking season will fill most places and were lucky to get a room. Linda's had been recommended by another motel manager who had no space. There are a small number of rooms so stop early. The rooms are small but all you need and very clean. Linda is well versed in history and there are books to...

Linda was happy to accommodate my late arrival after a long day of hiking. Room was clean and well appointed; quiet for sleeping. Easy access along 395. Met my needs perfectly after six days of backpacking.

Ray's Den - Clean, well serviced, friendly, easy ... great location. Cannot fault in any way !! The backdrop to Independence is amazing. The mountains are picture perfect & town folk friendly. There is a walking track a few minutes down the road with the most spectacular view.

We were greeted by a wonderfully comfortable bed and an immaculately clean room! This is an old style motor court that has been well maintained and a real treat to experience. The town of Independence sits at the foot of the Sierra making it an interesting place to explore.

We stayed in Ray's Den during our trip from Yosemite to Las Vegas. Our room was very clean and comfortable with the Air Con being a great relief from the soaring heat outside. Independence is a small quaint town with not many options for eating, would suggest eating in Big Pine or Lone Pine, especially if arriving late. What made...
