Its rare for a hotel to hit 5 stars but the quality of this one stood out with the large room, king bed, well furnished room, solid fixtures, room safe, excellent AC and well equipped bath. American hotel rooms are superior to European hotel rooms.
Recently stayed at the Omni attending a conference in the GWCC. My room was on the 26th floor which was perfectly fine but the elevators could be slow at times. My room was fine with two double beds and chair and ottoman and desk area. I'm thinking updates to the rooms are in order but nothing that would stop me from staying here again. I liked having the Keurig to make coffee and a small refrigerator. The maid service was great and the staff I encountered were all good.
Our ride from the airport was less than perfect through the all of the traffic and the fact that the valet area is not clearly marked so drivers do not know where we’re supposed to come in , it took longer than expected . We were so hungry but arrived too late to get any food from the top draft restaurant . I was upset but somehow the bartender CONTESSA turned all of that around !! I figured I would just get a quick beer - this one beer turned into three drinks but then I realized that my room did not have any way for me to heat up my sons milk and my sisters takeout order and while the other bartenders had no clue where I could find a microwave and gave is no answers Contessa, a bartender went into action immediately by getting on the phone and contacting the front desk and she had a solution for us!! I don’t know how hard it was for the other people to just do that instead of being confused- another guest rudely mentioned that unless it’s their first day they should know where things were and that’s when she told us it was her in fact second day . She made us feel very safe that she had immediate access to front desk and to security and she knew how to help us, it’s difficult traveling with small children and when you can’t get hot water that’s a really big problem . We had such a good time that we forgot that we were hungry and then somehow she got us to try the boss hog which is a very expensive whiskey and I didn’t even care about spending the money due to the amazing customer service - I don’t know how she did it but she changed our entire experience . Thank you CONTESSA and Sam, we will be back to try the wings and tacos ! …
I'm torn on writing this review. There were some very nice people who we dealt with over our stay (James from Bell Services and Faith at the front Desk). However, I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years with my family and this was the first time we have had so many issues. We arrived Friday evening and I was given a different room than what I had reserved. No one let me know of this change at check in. Once we got to our room we knew it was wrong though. I called from the room and was told that a conference took all the rooms with king sized beds. This was not acceptable to me or my wife, but I was assured that the night would be comped as well as our valet fee and we would be moved to another room the next day when there would be more available. This room had lights and outlets that did not work and beds that were very uncomfortable (along with not being the room we had reserved). The next day I went to the front desk and they had no notes in the computer or any idea of what I was talking about. I explained the situation again and a very nice woman named Faith moved us to a suite in the South Tower (we were in North 2480 and were moved to South 646). The room was much nicer and we accepted it, but the view was of the almost vacant CNN center not of the city (as we had reserved). On the last night we were in the room, the heater stopped working. I did not even complain because we were leaving that morning. Now that we are home and I have reviewed our bill, I can see we were not comped for the first night for the room or valet. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed in my favorite hotel in Atlanta (as well as many other Omni hotels we have visited over the years). I had not planned on making this review public (I filled out the survey privately), but my frustration level has only increased as I am home and thinking about this family trip. This will be our last time staying at the Omni, there are just too many other options available.…
I decided to get a room here because of the close proximity to a local race. The service I received at check-in , the coffee shop ,and valet were top notch. Prior to my race, I requested my car at approximately 4am and couldn't get a response. Antonio at the Front desk went above and beyond to ensure my car was retrieved promptly. Overall he was quick, professional, and kind! I would definitely return to this hotel.
We experienced extremely poor service at this hotel. The hotel is next to two concert venues and their even knowing there were concerts, it took over 1 1/2 hours to check in. Staff would shrug shoulders when asked questions. Will not return!
the hotel could do with some updating. The breakfastservice however, in the capable and customerfriendly hands of mr Jeffrey is very good. He tends to your every need as is ms Elizabeth in the servoce department.
The location is great in proximity to the convention center, but the rooms are dated and the restuarant/bars are very expensive. Thankfully there's other places near by to grab a bite. The elevators take a while but it's such a large hotel that's to be expected.
I don’t know if I should start with the cleanliness or how the a/c just stopped working the last night. My siblings always said nice things about the Omni. Those are now untruths. I attempted to order breakfast at 730am and was advised unless I pot the order on the handle by 2am I would have to go out to eat. The bathroom vanity had something dripping off of it, but thankful I travel with Lysol wipes. The bed skirt condition made me feel as though I checked into a motel. The kindness and helpfulness of some of the staff was the only plus.
Hard to believe Omni still keeps its name on this property. 1/2 the elevators were out, carpet was filthy, some rooms did not have hot water, AC chilled the room to about 58 degrees and would not stop, getting blankets took 2 requests and 4 hours, and it appeared to be understaffed.
