If you want to stay in the park and are not a camper, this is what you get. Recommend asking if a second floor room. They are larger and, as there are only two floors in each building, you will avoid hearing people walking (kids running!) above you. There is no tv and wifi is useless. But, hey, you've come...

We stayed at the Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde National Park for 1-night in late Sep ($161). The lodge is located at 8,000 feet in the heart of the park, about 8 miles from the major ruins like Cliff Palace and Balcony House and the secondary ruins at Wetherill Mesa. Set on a hill above the Wetherill road junction,...

What a beautiful place. Whatever room you get, you will have a beautiful view. The rooms are spacious and clean. You are staying in a National Park for a rate that I believe is very low. The restaurant was high price, but we actually ate upstairs in the lounge and enjoyed the food and atmosphere..

Spent one night here in early October. Our room was in a strip of four units, and was located on one end. View out back side on porch was most positive aspect with a beautiful sunset on day we were there. Room itself was fairly ordinary. The bathroom felt a bit claustrophobic as toilet was in one tiny room with...

I made a decision to stay here at the last minute due to being exhausted. The thought of having to drive out of the park and to either Durango or Cortez was too much to face and I thought it best to get a room for the night. I had not planned on this and so had not brought a...

Okay, alright already! The rooms, yes, are small, but who is staying in the room when you are in a national park for gosh sake! Our room was a deluxe kiva room. We had a great view, and could enjoy the sunset. Small balcony off the room from which we could view the stars at night. Could not get WiFi...

amenities were more than nice, room was clean and comfy but the views were really beautiful. The meals there where so much more than expected.Being so close to The Long House and the Balcony House made the trip. We will do this again.

My wife and I spent 1 night at the Far View Lodge and was generally disappointed. The rooms were small, closet space almost non existent and in need of updating. The only redeeming feature was beautiful views. If I ever return to the area, I would stay in the quaint town of Cortez.

Having read some less than flattering reviews of Far View Lodge, I thought I should weigh in. This lodge is located at the "peak" of Mesa Verde National Park. It is a spectacular location with wonderful views. I was there on a particularly beautiful few days in the Fall. The lodging wasn't perfect and there is no TV and internet...

My wife and I were spending three days exploring the park so I decided to spend extra to get a "view room." So we were very disappointed when over 50% of the view from our room was blocked by the parking lot and the building in front of us. If you want an unobstructed view ask for the buildings on...
