Located in a 16th century Renaissance palace, this charming hotel offers modern and tastefully decorated rooms along with the best of staying in a historic building in the centre of Plasencia in the heart of the Jewish quarter and very close to the Cathedrals. Good breakfast with gluten free and lactose free products. Nice staff.
Great location, with onsite parking, something rare in any historic town. Rooms were spacious with everything you’ll need for your stay. Delicious breakfast a la carte, and best of all, a very professional and pleasant staff, especially Laura, Fernando and the restaurant staff they went above and beyond their duties to make us feel welcomed. Thank you all for your services.
The hotel is in a great location in the old town. Our room, a grand deluxe, was lovely, very clean and comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly. Our only problem was that breakfast was appalling. It came on a pre plated tray that had obviously been set up a while before we were given it.
The place is perfectly located, not far from the monuments and the walls, serviced by a parking place (book in advance) and with an impeccable staff. Rooms are nice and spacious with a flavor of middle age but all the comfort needed in a business trip.
The quality of conversion of this old Palace is really something. We had a bit of the old wall as part of the wall of our bedroom. The quality of service is high. The rooms are a little eccentric. In ours the shower and washbasin were in the bedroom although the toilet was in a separate room. The air con, shower, free WiFi all worked superbly. We eat in the restaurant in the evening and the quality of food was excellent. We travelled by car and spaces are limited so you will need to reserve it in advance and the cost is 18 euros. As with many car parks it is quite tight parking. You will also need instructions on how to get to the hotel by car. We really enjoyed our stay there. Recommended
The entrance is amazing and at the same time tasteful, the atrium is special, it is a palace of the XVI century or XVII, but the rooms are different one of the other mine was small relatively, with a nice balcony overlooking the Cathedral. The bathroom has a large sink....not the typical one and a open shower.....simple but it had to keep the style. it is a place to stay and just enjoy Plasencia, and by the way the Plaza Mayor is a few blocks away....worth the visit
We stayed in August for 4 nights in a suite during the Plasencia Folk Festival. The location of this hotel was perfect - inside the walls of the old city, and an easy 1 kilometre walk from the train station, and walking distance to everything we wanted to visit. 2 minutes to Plaza Meyor, 10 minutes to La Isla, a stones throw from the Cathedra and within easy reach of other great historically significant sites. Service was impeccable, friendly, helpful without being over attentive. The reception staff were incredible. Our room was the most amazing place we have ever stopped. Like the rest of the original building, it was beautifully restored, preserved, and adapted for modern living requirements. It was cool, spacious and welcoming. The restaurant and bar had great food and drinks available all day. The biggest issue we had was making ourselves leave the hotel to spend time in the city. The outdoor pool was small but refreshing and welcome in the summer heat. On the rooftop is a bar open at weekends with amazing views of the cathedral.…
A wonderful old building that has been converted to an hotel. The rooms are large and arranged in interesting ways around the hotel property. The morning breakfast features some of the best coffee in Spain save by courteous staff. The hotel is but a few minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor where one can find a diverse collection of restaurants and bars. Be sure to reserve a space in the car park when making the booking .
Booked a room overlooking the cathedral with a balcony. It turned out to be very small with a limited view so we asked to change to a larger room with velux windows in the roof. Nice renovation and very interesting though lacking warmth in both decor and the reception check-in. Outdoor spaces look a little unloved especially by the pool. The highlight was the gourmet breakfast which was high quality, plentiful and served by super friendly staff. It was useful to have reserved private parking in the hotel garage but it is very tight on entry and exit. Overall, I would stay again but would wait until there is a price drop last minute as it is pretty expensive - we could have saved over 30 euros had we done this. The town is really lovely and well worth a visit.
One night stop-over with friends to break a long drive. We had a car load of luggage, so one consideration had been the hotel car park but on arrival it was being used for a party and we had to use a public car park instead. Check-in by the excellent sole receptionist was quick and easy. Historical hotel building itself quite interesting and entertainingly recently refurbished throughout. Bedroom very unusual layout with wash basin etc behind a partition which is also the bedhead, huge bath 'open-plan' with the bedroom, could be really great but far too many problems - non-working lights, blocked sink drain, shower unit fell off the wall and flooded the bedroom room, etc. Having eventually got sorted we all met at the roof-top terrace bar, this was an utter disgrace – filthy with pigeon droppings over all the tables and chairs. Looked as thogh it had not been cleaned for weeks. No bar staff - had to go all the way back down to reception to order and the overpriced drinks (over €30 for 4) took over ½ hour to arrive. By which time our restaurant table was ready. The restaurant food is good but rather expensive, there were only 2 tables in use but the service was very slow - not enough people on duty to cope (probably dealing with the garage party). Simple but pleasant self-service breakfast for €7 in a courtyard. Overall very disappointed, hotel is way overpriced and can not be recommended for anything except the location and architecture. N.B. Most other reviews on Trip Advisor do not reflect our experience and we paid almost 50% more than the currently advertised prices. Perhaps we just choose a bad time? Would not stay again.…
