Mt wife and I stayed at the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary - and as soon as the hotel knew we were treated fabulously - a room upgrade and complimentary cava at lunch. Our room was new and very comfortable with a glass floor so we could see the mediaeval foundations and the public areas are spectacular.
This is a lovely building in a superb location in the middle pf the old city. The interior is very well furnished with spacious corridors featuring old furnishings. The staircases are pure Hogwarts. Everything was good The bedrooms are spacious and include all you could need for a very comfortable stay.
The Parador itself is stunning. It was originally a monastery and it is very interesting. Our room was very clean and had a separate sitting area, even two TVs. It was quite dark but that is a problem with the old buildings. The bathroom was excellent, a walk in shower with two rain heads. Unfortunately we found the staff to be rather sullen in general and the pool was not open either. As the temperature was 34 degrees we weren’t very happy. We were informed of this but only two days before our arrival which was too late to cancel. No discount or even a room upgrade. Disappointed
The enchantment of history with all the modern comforts. The monastery-castle has been admirably restored with beautiful details, and even the simplest bedroom was interesting and very comfortable. Highly recommend this Parador.
Rating is difficult as reception and room would be 5; dinner would be 0. First impressions were excellent; reception staff 1st class. Room in keeping with beautiful building. Dinner was the WORST meal we have ever been served. Steak sent back (asked for med/rare) as not cooked. Same steak re-served cut in half and 're cooked. Bread stale. Amusee Bouche was potatoes cooked 3 ways (fried from frozen, chilled in middle). Starter of mushrooms and (undercooked) egg inedible. Very disappointed 😞. Looking forward to breakfast
