As the website says, the neighbourhood may be 21st century, but when you walk through the garden gate into Castle Levan you are transported back 550 years. However this 15th century castle manages to hang on to the better aspects of the 21st century, namely great rooms, breakfasts and hospitality. This fantastic B&B venue with atmospheric rooms and spiral staircases,...

Myself and partner stumbled on this b&b by chance when we booked a very last minute room and I am so glad we did! The castle if located within a lovely residential estate but as soon as you are in the grounds you would think you were in a rural location. The new owners are absolutely lovely and made us...

Castle Levan was the most perfect romantic getaway. Truly beautiful castle inside and out. The interior furnishings and decoration are 1st class luxury and splendour and our four poster room and deluxe toilet with roll top bath and huge walk in shower were exquisite. The gardens, the cascading waterfall and the courtyard are so picturesque and tranquil. The Conservatory is...

Last week's stay was my second this year and it was well worth the return visit. Castle Leven is such a warm and friendly place, not necessarily what you would expect from a B&B with its own dungeon. It is a fascinating building in itself, and when you add to that the attention to detail Kim and Maria have put...

What a great place to stay and see views that haven't changed in 500 years! View Loch Long from the battlements and see the same view that time has not changed from 1459 when the Castle Levan was built! Views around the castle, including the waterfall, valley, and entrance are stunning to say the least. The interior has been updated,...

We stayed here only one night and we felt it was not enough. From the very begining you like enter the fairy tale. You pass through small arch, down small and nice garden and find yourselves near the small wooden door. And here everything begins: old walls, curving staircase, charming rooms with plenty of tartan textile and furniture in the style....

You will go home after sleeping in the castle and share your stories with all your friends and family - or anyone who will listen. Lydia and Jan were a delight! They loved to share stories and invited you for walks in their garden. It was lovely walking into town and shopping and eating in the little restaurants. Also great...

This is a 14th century castle that was redone. It still has the short doors and curving staircase. Don't worry, the dungeon is not available. Lidya and Jan are delightful hosts and great cooks! And she sets the most inviting breakfast table. I slept on the pull out, and it was the best night sleep I'd had in two weeks...

You can't do this in the States so we thought this would be a great opportunity. We weren't quite sure what to expect. The castle is a tower embedded in suburbia and it's an interesting juxtaposition. It's hard (i.e. impossible) to get pictures of the outside because of the neighbors' houses. If the weather's decent, Jan will take you out...
