Great night in The Royal Hotel with excellent food. Very clean & comfy. Staff very friendly & helpfully. We arrived a lot earlier & although our room wasn't ready the lovely receptionist, Julie, said it would be cleaned immediately for us. Good service

A really comfortable stay in one of the hotel's lovely four-poster bedrooms. Friendly helpful staff and very generous good value portions for dinner. Breakfast fine. It would have been nice if more of the open fires in the public areas were lit on the cold February evenings, which would have made the experience even better.

The Royal Hotel is a lovely old hotel with loads of character, comfy lounge and welcoming bar with open fire. Dinner was excellent, with hearty portions, and the staff are lovely and chatty. Molton Brown toiletries and dressing gowns are a lovely addition in the bedrooms. There are plenty of walks in the areas if you like the outdoors or you...

Had a two-night break here two weeks ago and it was lovely. Public rooms had a great homely atmosphere with tasteful pictures and antiques. Yes, some of the carpets are a little worn, but the important things were clean and sparkling, and the food was delicious. The friendly staff looked after us well, and the local walks were great...just right...

Queen Victoria stayed here in 1842 so it has been around for a while. It has acquired the patina of somewhere that is very old but well cared for and almost demands a certain reverence. We just wanted a coffee and a scone which was promptly brought to us by a very friendly lady ... nothing was too much trouble.

Looks the part , but management never seem to be there when its busy and when they are needed to keep an eye on things, , staff not trained properly ,not professional , food a complete hit or miss, a big let down for Comrie, this hotel could be super, has the character but that's where the story sadly ends ,...

I love this hotels atmosphere, especially the bar with its open fire. I felt the rooms were comfortable if a little downtrodden. Our meal exceeded expectations, each of our party of 6 was pleased with their choices. My mussels and chips were absolutely delicious. So a happy experience all round.

Excellent atmosphere with great menu choice and good food. The staff are friendly and helpful. The most important part for us as a family is that the bar area accepts dogs with pleasure. In summary a great place to eat in a delightful village.

Visited the hotel for the night. It was a cosy welcoming little hotel. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in was quite small, but very nice. Had some wine and a game of dominos in the bar with the log fire roaring. I would definitely come back. Missed the breakfast as was hungover so can't comment...
