After having had our wedding at the Inn last year, we decided to come back to celebrate our one year anniversary and were not disappointed. We had originally chose the spot for our wedding because of its simple rustic charm, gorgeous views of the bay and the absolute freshest mountain air (we joked about becoming permanent residents of the MHI!)...

I stayed at the Mountain View Inn because it is directly across the street from the back entrance to Muir Woods. Check out the Bay Area Hiker website for advice on the trails. With a bit of hiking you can access Muir Woods without having to drive. It is the only reason I can recommend staying here. The hotel is...

Before posting this to TripAdvisor, I emailed the Mountain Home Inn to give them an opportunity to makes things right. I sent them the following email on 9/9/16. I never heard back. Rather than re-typing a review, I am just posting the email I sent. It covers just about everything. (I am shocked that the Mountain Home Inn has 4...

Staff great ! Mark was wonderful we were able to check in early and to enjoy a wonderful lunch. Love that you could walk over to the trails and have several options. Breakfast the following morning was relaxing and appreciate being able to sit outside on the deck to enjoy the view and the crisp cool morning. Staff all helpful...

Friendly staff and an idyllic setting (stunning views; verandas; walk to Muir Woods) made this an ideal base for our two days in the Mill Valley area. But here's what this place needs: 1. MOSQUITO SCREENS!! There is no air conditioning, which would be fine, except . . . the smaller rooms have no windows, only doors to the veranda,...

Highly recommend the Mountain Home Inn. Staff was extremely accommodating (huge shout out to Mark for waiting around for us to check in as we arrived late and showing us around the Inn) and the Inn is beautiful. The rooms are all really nice! Some have bigger beds and TVs but the views from every are spectacular!!! We woke up...

From the nice website, I had the impression that this was a high-end, boutique hotel. In fact it is a bit lived-in, albeit in a pleasant way. Our room had a terrific view and was comfortable. The location--high above Mill Valley just into Mt Tam park--is relaxing and quiet. We hiked from the Inn to Muir Woods and back, a...

It's lovely to be able to stay on Mt. Tam with access to hiking trails practically right out the door. The inn was rebuilt after a fire, incorporating redwood logs as columns. Most rooms have balconies. There are great views from both bedroom and dining room deck. We stayed in the Miwok room which had a queen size bed, a...

They advertise that they are open till 8:30 but they open and close when they want. They told us they would be open till 8:30 and we drove all the way our from the city and arrived close to 8:00 and they were already closed! We knocked on the door and someone "acted" like they didn't speak English! 😳 Then...

We end up staying here about once a year for a getaway even though it's only a couple of miles from our home. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and quiet. The place could use a little sprucing up, and the wi-fi is sporadic (you shouldn't be working anyway), it's not deal breaker for us....
