First of all the views are great. The staff are very friendly and do their best to help. There are many wonderful walls/hikes within walking distance. The rooms are also very large, have wonderful views and some even have balconies. The only downside is it needs a few repairs but that doesn't matter too much.

A few friends and I went to Mountain Home Inn because it was recommended to us while we were visiting Sausalito. The view was absolutely amazing, and it's a great place for a bite to eat or drink, even though the drinks aren't that great. ((Just a note, I'm only reviewing the location in the bar, I did not stay...

This is my first trip to CA. Landed in San Fran with a day to spare before my retreat in San Rafael. Found the Mountain Home Inn on the Internet and had no idea what a piece of gold it is. All of my friends who are familiar with the area spoke of Muir Woods. tHis place is adjacent to...

The inn has beautiful views, looking out on San Francisco Bay. However, the property is badly understaffed and poorly maintained. The deferred maintenance really shows in the rooms with peeling wallpaper and cracking tiles in the bathroom. The balcony surface area is shabby and the Adirondack chairs are about to fall apart. The staff did their absolute best to accommodate...

This is my new go-to for a quiet get-away. Great views to wake up to and very relaxing to listen to the crackles of the fire in the fireplace after a soak in the jacuzzi tub. Good beers on tap at the Inn's restaurant, beautiful view and extremely friendly service. Best night's sleep:)

Sorry to say that we will not return. After two stays here I was very dissapointed in the lack of cleanliness in the room and the general lack of professionalism about the place again. Helpful-seeming employees out of their depth, infrastructure not kept up, stained bed linens (yuk), tissue box with food (or worse) stuck to it, just can't go...

A stay at this Inn gets you in the thick of the things. Close from everything, you need to be to enjoy your Muir woods stay. There are couple of trails right outside the Inn. You get amazing views from the Inn (even from your room). No very spacious but clean rooms and no complains stay. Great breakfast options and...

We have never stayed overnight at the Mountain Home Inn, however we live in Mill Valley and often enjoy stopping by for lunch after hiking in the area. If the sun has burned the fog off, the deck is delightful. The staff can be quite welcoming and friendly. In truth however the food is only OK -try the hamburger- and...

Stayed for three days with my two adult sons in this inn, perfectly sited near trails in Muir Woods; also close to Pt Reyes. Rooms are not fancy, the furniture and carpets are a bit worn, but that's part of the mountain charm. The highlight is that each room has a lovely view and se have small balconies . The...

Can't be closer to muir woods unless your in a vacation rental. The deck to our room was nice. The rooms are very dated. Need an overhaul especially for the price. Breakfast was good and again the view from deck amazing. The guys that checked us in very sweet and so was our waiter the following morning.
