This is a quality, privately owned and run bed and breakfast establishment. The man and wife team are extremely pleasant and helpful. It has two properties, the main house and aunt Clara's cottage across the road. Both are individual and charming in their own right and both superb. We had a great time thanks to Ron and Eleanor who put...

An excellent stay in Natchez. Nice to be We were in Aunt Clara's cottage- room was massive, clean and well appointed. Hosts could not do any more to make you feel welcome. Breakfasts were good, sitting with other guests gave the opportunity to chat and exchange travel tips and where to go- we got loads of good info on New...

My partner and I visited Devereaux Shields House during our road trip of the Deep South. We had decided to stay, where possible, in smaller, Victorian Hotels and BB's to experience a sense of History. The house is situated on an atmospheric tree lined street of similar period properties. Our room was spacious and comfortable and contained a huge antique...

We spent 2 nights in the Louise room which is in 'Aunt Clara's Cottage', just over the road from the main house. We were given a very warm welcome including small bottles of wine! It is located in a very pleasant residential area only a short walk or drive to downtown Natchez where there is a good selection of restaurants....

My husband and I stayed a weekend in April 2015 at Devereaux Shields House. From the moment we arrived until we left that Monday Ron and Eleanor could not have been more accommodating hosts. I was aghast to read a review that was not in favor of this bed and breakfast. We stayed in both Aunt Clara's Cottage and the...

We opted to stay here in order to experience a little of the old style charm of Natchez. We were not disappointed. The house is delightful and - contrary to a recent view- in a very pleasant area within walking distance of a number of good restaurants. At no time, even late at night, did we feel the slightest threat....

this is a quaint, comfortable Bed and Breakfast run by a wonderful friendly couple Eleanor and Ron. The house is in the Victorian style built in the mid-late 1800's. There are a lot of beautiful antiques in the home and rooms. We stayed in the Rose Suite which had two separate rooms, one with a queen sized and one king...

Ron and Eleanor are very nice, and I applaud their efforts to maintain a B&B in a neighborhood which is struggling. What none of these reviews tell you, and I'm shocked, because the whole point of Trip Advisor is to get honest reviews from real people, is that the home is situated in a very mixed neighborhood. There will be...

We thank these guests for applauding our Bed & Breakfast. However, we must admit that after many years of rewarding 5-star service to our southern travelers we never thought we would be celebrating our 10th anniversary with such a poor review. In our experience guests only find in our B&B and Natchez what is already in their heart. This family...

We stayed in the Victoria Suite at Aunt Clara's Cottage which is across the street from the main Devereaux Shields location. Eleanor and Ron were truly gracious hosts who made us and our dog feel very welcome. Our suite was beautifully appointed with an incredibly comfortable bed and luxurious bedding. We had two days to enjoy the sights of Natchez...

Everything I had heard about southern hospitality was exemplified by our hosts, Ron & Eleanor. They love the area they live in and are very glad to give you tips on everything from where to eat to what to see and what not to miss. We stayed in Aunt Clara's cottage and enjoyed it so much. The bed was wonderfully...
