We chose Monmouth as a peaceful place to stop on our drive from New Orleans to Memphis. It was indeed peaceful, but the general standards fell well short of luxury. Our room was upstairs on the veranda. It was very much in need of cleaning and decorating. The wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom, the wash basin was cracked...

The main house and common rooms of the inn are beautiful and well kept. Unfortunately our room in the Pond Cottages was not. Breakfast was marginal with the same menu of 2 items every day. The staff was exceptional however, especially Gandy who gives a wonderful tour as well

This is the most beautiful building I have ever stayed in. The gardens are exquisite and everything has been thought of for the comfort of guests. There is fresh coffee on the terrace from 7.00 am, as much as you want; there is a bar in the Library where you can order traditional Mint Juleps as well as many other...

Visited the Monmouth Inn with a large group of friends for a long weekend during Spring Pilgrimage and enjoyed the accommodations, delicious food and Southern hospitality. The grounds are well-kept and I wish we would have spent more time just exploring the property. Be sure to also make time for apps and drinks in the study. Everyone there is very...

A beautiful building in lovely gardens. We stayed in one of the rooms in the garden. Our biggest regret is that we only stayed one night as the place would have been perfect for a long weekend, relaxing in gardens, and exploring the Natchez Trace Parkway. If there was any criticism, it that there was not good wifi in the...

Monmouth was a wonderful place for a nice weekend. The staff, hotel, restaurant was all superb. The room was very spacious, clean and nice bathroom. Restaurant 1818 was delicious and beautiful as well. We will be returning one day ~ really enjoyed it.

This inn is situated in beautiful grounds in a serene location. It is well positioned - a short drive to town and convenient to get back onto the main highway for our drive on to Memphis the next day. It has historic buildings with period furnishings. The rooms are large and comfortable rooms. Although we stayed in the annexe where...

We travelled from the UK on a 3 week road trip, Monmouth was the most beautiful and overall enchanting place we visited. Amazingly friendly staff (particularly Roosevelt in the bar and George in the Restaurant). The tour of the house and grounds is a MUST! I can not remember the lady's name but she was incredible, very open & honest...

Historic integrity maintained in the decor and the grounds. Gorgeous gardens. We were treated like royalty! It was a one of the best weekends I have ever had. The food was fantastic and the little bar was so quaint.

Beautiful gardens and great staff. Breakfast was delicious everyday. Spectacular historic house adapted to serve as an inn. Great way to get a sense of Natchez architectural history. Hope to return soon.
