When we arrived it was already dark so we didn't see how beautiful the grounds were until the next day. We were looked after quickly at check-in by the very friendly and helpful receptionist. We had just parked in an available space but it worked out well as we were staying in the cottages so we got our keys and...

The room was beautiful, the way they captured the history of the buildings and grounds spectacular. I love that it has not overly renovated. The restaurant was one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had in my life, I had the duck. The staff was wonderful. When we came back from dinner our bed was turned down. The...

We stayed for one night on our recent road trip round the "Deep South" states. There is parking to the side of the main house. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. You are given an envelope on arrival with a welcome letter, a map of the property and information, which is a nice touch. The bell boy (it seems...

We unfortunately experienced a tornado alert on our stay, the owner/manager failed to protect in this emergency event. She was completely dismissive of our safety, and had no plans to cope. We are from the UK and had no idea what to do when sirens sounded in the early hours, and the hotel phone diverted to an out of hours...

My husband and I stayed for one night in one of the cottages. The grounds are lovely and we enjoying exploring them. The staff are friendly and Gandy gives a great tour. Unfortunately, our room was musty/humid and the tables outside had not been wiped off in days. The décor needs to be updated. It was OK for one night...

We chose Monmouth as a peaceful place to stop on our drive from New Orleans to Memphis. It was indeed peaceful, but the general standards fell well short of luxury. Our room was upstairs on the veranda. It was very much in need of cleaning and decorating. The wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom, the wash basin was cracked...

The main house and common rooms of the inn are beautiful and well kept. Unfortunately our room in the Pond Cottages was not. Breakfast was marginal with the same menu of 2 items every day. The staff was exceptional however, especially Gandy who gives a wonderful tour as well

This is the most beautiful building I have ever stayed in. The gardens are exquisite and everything has been thought of for the comfort of guests. There is fresh coffee on the terrace from 7.00 am, as much as you want; there is a bar in the Library where you can order traditional Mint Juleps as well as many other...
