We were assigned a suite away from the main house but close to the building used to serve the breakfasts. The rooms were spacious and well furnished. We had a patio with rockers and a swing chair to share with our neighbours. Ample free parking. Ice was provided daily but no in-room tea and coffee facilities nor a mini bar....

As a well travelled couple we expected an exceptional quality hotel. We were given a room on the ground floor (room 30). This place was full of humidity. Carpets in very bad condition, maintenance in the whole is needed. We planed Thanksgiving at the hotel so we had dinner at the restaurant. The place is a refrigerator. Food was served...

We adored our stay at this property. It was luxurious, restful and quaint. The staff were friendly and pleasant. Our room was well appointed - we felt as though we were staying in a museum. We spent an afternoon wandering the grounds taking in the charm of the property. The complimentary breakfast and hors d’oeuvres were very good and served...

From the genteel reservation attendant to the grand mossy oak trees lining the entrance, we traced our steps back to a time of long ago in the South where manners, etiquette, opulence & a grandeur were a part of every aspect of our stay. The on site historians proved an invaluable source of reference, don't miss out on the evening...

I can't explain in words how beautiful the staff at Monmouth was. Hal, Roosevelt, and Gandy made our stay both welcoming and memorable. The kitchen staff was accommodating with our gluten free/dairy free requests too! The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. I only wish we had more time in this awesome inn. I stayed in room 22 and I...

We stayed two nights here during a trip from Atlanta to New Orleans and we chose it as we wanted to experience an Antebellum mansion. Our rooms were comfortable and full of interesting items but let down a little by the bathrooms which were a little tired but then they are rather old! I would have given the inn five...

Monmouth Plantation is a beautiful antebellum home. Monmouth is listed as a National Historic Landmark. A 'Breathtaking beauty' marks both the 'lovely grounds' and 'magnificent' 1818 Greek Revival estate, built by John Hankinson in 1818, Monmouth was purchased by General John A. Quitman, a hero of the Mexican War, in 1826 and remained in his family for nearly a century.

Roosevelt and Hal make this place. We had a wonderful time. The fried chicken is amazing! The grounds are beautifully kept. We truly felt like we were home away from home. We have been here twice. I am hoping to being all my family this winter. Everyone needs to go to the Natchez Cemetery to see the Turning Angel.

We only stayed here 1x night on our tour of the Deep South and we wish we stayed longer!! We had a garden room which was beautifully laid out, clean, comfortable bed, very traditional and just fabulous. We had some drinks at the bar with the wonderful Roosevelt the bar man! Wonderful guy and so very friendly and knowledgeable! We...
