My wife found this B&B in the Nova Scotia tour guide, we had been travelling all day and wanting a room for the night before taking our ferry the next day. To our surprise the owner abruptly turned my wife away with no explanation telling her "You cannot stay here" , wow! We are both middle aged couple with professional jobs and who have travelled often and we have never been turned away like this. She did not even let my wife in at the door and stood in her way. This place was empty at 5pm on a Sunday.

We spent one night here. Beautifully decorated room, beds were very comfortable. Lovely full breakfast. There was a family room with a TV and games. Lots of history to the building and beautiful antiques all over.

We had a perfect stay here. Two rooms. Fully equipped, spotless, comfy beds. Beautiful old house. We were on the third floor - quite a climb! - in an amazing setting. There was a common room with a tv and games. Gorgeous decor everywhere. Some history on the house. And by the sea for sure! Right on the water!!! Breakfast was in a beautiful dining room with China dishes, sparkly cutlery and dishes. Food: cereal; yogurt; fresh fruit salad; juices; bacon, eggs, sausage and toast; fresh coffee. A perfect spot.

Who would have thought that in this tiny mining town, we would find such a jewel. On the cliff overlooking the ocean, this bed and breakfast is a must-see when travelling through Cape Breton. Even though there was a slight mix up on our room selection, the owner graciously upgraded us to their suite. It was a beautiful room, with a fireplace and a separate sitting room. The room was bright and airy with many windows and a partial sea view. You must be sure to stop in Glace Bay - if only to have a chance to stay here.

What a wonderful historic place! The woodwork, and stained glass is divine! Joyce the innkeeper was very personable. This is her last year there, as the inn will be sold from what we were told, at the end of the season. We stayed in the Linegan Mine room, with access to the big balcony in back. What a view! Comfy beds, and clean!
