From the 3 star rating we were expecting an average hotel by Cuban standards. We were pleasantly surprised. We travelled on a tour and were there for only 2 nights which was disappointing. The room was large and clean. Beds comfortable. New quiet air conditioners were installed while we were there. Food was good. Pool was nice. We ate dinner...

We came to this hotel with a tour group and found the service to be very efficient. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room overlooked the ocean and was very large with a deck. It was clean and tidy and the maid left cute towel creations on the bed. There was a new air conditioner. It could use new...

This hotel is now called the Grand Caribe. Located in Rancho Luna. It boasts a 5 star rating which is a joke. 3 stars is being generous. We stayed one night here only because everything else was full. Pros: 1. The hotel sits directly over looking the ocean which is pretty. However there is no beach access. 2. It has...

Surprised to read some reviews of rude staff. We stayed just two nights but all staff was wonderful. It is not a U.S. standard hotel but didn't expect that in Cuba. Make sure you ask for room with balcony overlooking sea. We so enjoyed that. Beautiful pool and nice little bar. You can work a short distance to the beach...

Was fairly disappointed with this hotel as it is very aged and obviously needs updating. Water was constantly leaking from our sink and we discovered at 1am after hearing odd noises outside that the sliding doors to the back deck did not lock. Not great for security as it's out in the middle of nowhere and we had a corner...

Don't expect a 5 star in Cienfuegos but Hotel Faro delivers on other features. The rooms are clean and all have a view of the Caribbean. Nice pool and bar. Breakfast buffet very adequate. Our group enjoyed getting out of Havana and seeing the countryside. Nice drive and got to see more of local culture.

We had the most amazing maid here. Because we left "gifts" for her such as candy, lipsticks, hair products, soaps and American lotions, she went out of her way to make us feel very welcomed. Our towels were always shaped like swans on the beds. The room was large, the AC in working condition. But the plumbing was constantly dripping...

My husband and I stayed here two nights as part of our Globus tour. It was ok. At first glance, the hotel looks better than it really is. It appears that when things are broken, they are patched rather than fixed or replaced. The bed was firm, and the shower worked. I'm not sure what other hotels are even available....

The toilet water fro the second floor rooms drains into the water found in the lower room bathroom toilets. The view is lovely, but the staff was inconsistent, sometimes helpful and sometimes rude and curt.

expected to be in Cienfuegos town but located 30 minutes away. The location is nice, but not where we expected to be. Staff were miserable and rude. Evening meal was very average even by Cuba's average standards with a particularly obnoxious waiter. There are no room safes available. The rooms are in very poor repair with taps not working etc.
