We stayed two nights here, while visiting the Mojave National Preserve. It is clean, generally quiet and nicer than we thought from the photos. Susan and Jim were the two that worked in the Nipton Trading Post and were most accommodating. A continental breakfast is served and they were generous in offering a wide variety of things. The bedrooms were... More

Thank you for taking the time to let us know you enjoyed your stay! The cafe is being remodeled and will be reopening on June 1st as Nana's Railroad Cafe, serving up homestyle cooking. We recommend visiting Hotel Nipton again and trying it out! You can give the cafe a call for more information, hours of operation, and reservations at... More

I've visited the Nipton Store many times and have always wanted to stay at the Hotel. I finally got to a few weeks ago. The Hotel has 5 rooms, we stayed in room 5-nearest the 2 shared showers and bathrooms. Room 3 was a favorite of Silent Film Star, Clara Bow, who stayed at the Hotel when she needed a... More

We are glad you had a chance to stay in the hotel! We hope you enjoyed your stay. We agree it's good to take advantage of the earplugs we provide if the train is bothersome, and also to call the hotel to make a reservation. We hope to see you again! More

I stayed here during a trip to the desert (actually for Cima Hill). It';s the only place in town, but it was very comfortable. The check-in was at the next-door Trading Post, the proprietress of which was very helpful and friendly. The Hotel has just five rooms, opening out onto a large "family room" lounge area, and shared bathroom facilities.... More

Nipton is a tiny tree-filled oasis in the vast Mojave Desert Preserve. An old railroad town that has one general store and one place to stay--and this is it. The rooms are very small, but that's what one would expect in a historic hotel. There is a large communal lounge, if you feel social. The five rooms share two bathrooms... More

The hotel has five rooms and we had booked them all for one night before our group of family and friends went our separate ways. This was my second stay at Nipton and again it went well. We all slept well (maybe the drink helped) and yes we did hear the trains but this just adds to the charm of... More

We were surprise and oh so pleased with the clean, efficient, nicely decorated room, the open lobby, and the fun, friendly hotel and restaurant folks. Rather than be bombarded with "fake things", here you get to experience the environment and surroundings of this desert lodging.

I stayed in both the hotel and the cabin during my visit. While I think both were a little pricey for what you get, it's the closet place I could find to Mojave preserve. The hotel rooms are just that, rooms with a bed. The bathrooms are shared but they are very clean. This is an old historic hotel in... More

I realise that some people can only stand to stay in a a Best Western/Holiday Inn etc and feel cheated if they don't get the use of a TV that is less than 6 months old. (The latter is not a problem here, because thyere are no TVs). But if you want interesting and historical this is the place. For... More

The only hotel in the 30 people town in the middle of Mojave. There is nothing around it for about 30 miles. Place is quiet and stars are close. Hotel lobby will make you feel like you are at your best friend's home. NOTE: Bathroom is shared, but that's hardly a problem considering there are two of them and only... More
