Simply the best hotel we have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Every member of the staff are simply sensational. Property itself with experiences offered is also fantastic. Sunsets from the Birdcage are like no other and with only 70+ rooms is a lovely environment.

Hotel's Favourite
So fortunate to have been able to experience this world class hotel on beautiful Maui. The staff was exceptional, the views breathtaking, the food delicious, the cocktails exquisite! We loved the luxury shuttle available at a moments notice to pop us down to the beach, shopping and restaurants, but were always happy to escape the business of the beachfront and return back to the exclusive, cool vibes of hotel Wailea. Chic decor, a great music vibe and the most stunning sunsets - there is no better hotel in Hawaii for a couples escape, a girls trip or an adult family vacation. We are already planning our return. Thank you to all of the incredible staff who made us feel truly special!

We had a wonderful stay and are already planning a return. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. I sat down one morning and had a conversation with a concierge. She then planned out a wonderful day trip for my wife and I. She also gave us towels, water and a travel bag. If felt like a friend giving you advice for a fun day. The shuttle service is outstanding. I would say that actually getting to the beach is easier from this Hotel than if you stayed at a resort on the beach. The food and service was top notch with no problems. Breakfast on the lanai was right on time and wonderful. The prices for food and drink were reasonable particularly in comparison with everywhere else in Wialea. The room, grounds, pool and restaurant are just beautiful. Thank you for a great stay.

Pros: Service staff we encountered were courteous and helpful. Staff members seemed to be well trained and accomplished at delivering personal service at a higher level than some of the larger resorts we have stayed at. We were especially pleased with the no children policy which made it very enjoyable to relax by the pool and enjoy drinks and meals in a quiet, relaxed setting. Our overall experience was good. Over the years we have stayed at many non-chain, luxury properties because of the higher level of services and competent staff. Except for a few minor problems, we would probably stay at Hotel Wailea again. Cons: There was an annoying level of noise including construction equipment noise in the pool area; employees slamming service cart doors; and especially yard maintenance equipment EARLY in the morning. It was impossible to relax on our balcony early morning with all the noise. We could also hear some daytime traffic noise (loud, revving engines and trucks) and realize this is out of the hotel's control, but it was annoying. Minor Issues: On one occasion, the room service ware we left outside for pickup was still there 12 hours later. We called and someone came immediately to remove it. At the pool, on our first visit, we were waited on very quickly by pool waitress. Second time, we sat for approx 15 mins without being served; went to bar to ask for service. The fitness center only had one treadmill working so we had to wait to use it. Overall, not at good as some of the non-chain, similar priced, luxury resorts we have stayed at, but definitely better service than most large, chain properties.

Hotel Wailea is absolute paradise! This is a small, intimate hotel, with not as many amenities as some of the bigger resorts, but I much prefer the tranquility and privacy. The grounds are gorgeous, very lush and tropical and our suite was comfortable and tastefully decorated, with a stunning panoramic view. Food at the Birdcage Bar was also surprisingly good. We are already planning our next trip back!

Hotel Wailea is an exceptional property. From the moment we checked in, we knew this was going to be a special place. The grounds are beautiful and we loved the peacefulness of the pool area. The views from The Restaurant, The Bird Cage (drinks) and our suite were incredible. The food was high quality, the drinks were innovative and the wine list was excellent. The service was attentive and personal. The valet service is a differentiator - our car was brought up quickly and with cold water. The valet also took us to restaurants and the beach. They were very responsive and we never waited more than 5 minutes. Initially, I was concerned the hotel was not on the beach. We loved where the hotel was located. The views were great. The valet service took us to the beach where they had a full set up ready for us. We stayed in an ocean view suite on the 2nd floor. The amenities were excellent. We loved the gracias space. The service all the way around was excellent. We loved the adult only focus - and met many interesting couples. Everyone was happy with the hotel accommodations. There are some great "experiences" you can sign up for as well. Overall, we would give this hotel a "10" - exceptional customer service, rooms and restaurant/bar/pool area. We will be back!

I hope this review finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the hospitality and wonderful memories that you have provided Francine and me for 11 years. As we plan our next vacation, we are delighted to let you know that we will be returning to your hotel next year to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Your hotel has truly become a second home for us, and it is the only place we consider staying when we visit Maui. From the warm welcome we receive upon our arrival to the comfortable and spacious room (034) that we have come to love, your hotel has always exceeded our expectations. The level of service that we have received from your staff over the years is unparalleled. We appreciate the personalized attention that we always receive, whether it is from the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant staff. Hotel Wailea location is also perfect for us, as it allows us to easily explore the local area while still enjoying a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Year after years Francine and I have many fond memories of watching the sunset from our balcony. Mahalo Markus for the wonderful hospitality that you have always provided, and we cannot wait to return next year. Sincerely, Roger,

Review of the Hotel Wailea 4/3 - 4/7 As you drive into the beautifully landscaped town of Wailea you realize how upscale the town is in general but as you approach the Hotel Wailea and the big automatic wooden gates swing open (very Jurassic Park!) you know this hotel is special. I cannot say enough things about the beauty of the grounds and the hotel, the images on the website and google don’t even do it justice. And when you get over the initial beauty evening comes and the lighting gives it another level of impact. Our welcome from the valet and reception was extremely friendly and we had champagne in our hands before we sat down. Unfortunately our room wasn’t available at check in time so we found our way to the pool bar where C’elsea (hopefully the right spelling) was very welcoming and friendly and gave us loads of great pointers of places to see around the island. The pork quesadilla we split for lunch was excellent, as was the rose champagne. The rooms are in separate buildings of 4 rooms per building. We had an upstairs, ocean view room close to the pool and it was perfect. The roll away windows out on the the deck (Lanai) makes the indoor / outdoor flow amazing and the view over the ocean and West Maui breathtaking. The first night we had dinner at the restaurant (reservations required ahead of time!) which was a fixed price, 3 course meal. The restaurant is on a deck overviewing the grounds and may have been one of the best dining experiences of my life. The view, the food and the service all spectacular. Due to being weary from traveling and full from the first two courses, we took our desert and the remaining half bottle of wine to go back to our room. Other parts of the hotel (breakfast, the birdcage bar, pool, yoga studio, valet, car service around town etc.) were all great. We did however, have a couple of issues. 1. The refrigerator in our room was VERY loud. We mentioned it on the first night and maintenance came out the next morning to ‘fix’ it which solved the noise issue but broke the fridge entirely. Which we found when coming back from being out all day to all our wine being warm. To the hotels credit, Brittney the manager sent us a complementary bottle of chilled wine and the fridge was fixed the next day. 2. Social media influencers and the ‘Tiktok’ generation. I’m 41 and I know I sound like an old man writing this but we picked the Hotel Wailea over the larger ocean front resorts because its adult only and a quiet more intimate experience. Sadly this was disturbed multiple times (both day and night) in the pool area by ‘adults’ (I guess they must have been 18) filming video and taking pictures for social media likes. Specifically on a night swim I had to ask one group to remove the fixed cameras they had placed around the pools edge so we could use the pool in peace without being filmed. Hopefully the hotel can clamp down on this. All in a great experience and I would definitely consider the Hotel Wailea again when we return to Maui.
