Stayed from 9/14 to 9/19 for a friend's wedding in Wailea. We received an Ocean view Condo as I reserved. The condition of the condo was very outdated and didn't feel as clean. But the view was nice, so we accepted it. As it reached...More
Location is perfect. Easy access to shopping, dining and beaches. Each unit we've stayed in has been directly on the golf course, grounds are immaculate as expected. Each has been well appointed and stocked with everything you will need aside from food. Do yourself a...More
We truly enjoyed our stay at Wailea Ekolu village 904. The interaction with Amanda was smooth, friendly and efficient. The process for reservation and payment was easy as well.
The unit itself was amazing. It was exactly as described, and looked even better than in...More
Beware: the credit to restaurants and spa are not credits! They are a bunch of coupons. It was a nice place but make sure you plan on using the kitchen otherwise it isn't worth it. But very clean and nice place to stay!

This is an older condo development built at the end of the 70s. Some units have undergone refurbishment by the owners. Wailea is a nice area with good snorkeling and a small shopping mall. Restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.

Ekolu is a large resort that is built on a "hill" so most units have beautiful views. This also means a bit of an uphill walk when you return from the beach. Some of the buildings face the golf course. The property is beautifully landscaped and there is a a lot of open space. There are 2 pools that are simple pools (compared to the hotel pools) but they have plenty of chairs and lawn chairs around the pool. They are beautifully taken care of and the deep end is really deep.
It is about 10 minutes to walk down to the sea front, maybe a bit more if you at the top of the resort. There isn't direct beach access in the main area of Wailea, you need to go through the big hotels to access the beach (or you can park in a couple of different parking lots if you have a car). The closest sandy beach is in front of the Grand Wailea and then in front of the Fairmont. If you go the other direction, there is a long sandy beach that goes in front of the Andaz and Ekahi Village. Our favourite beaches are in the residential area just past the Fairmont and then in Makenna.
You don't technically need a car to get to the beach but it is quite a walk with your beach gear if you want to go to the beach for the day. If you are wanting to walk along the beautiful sea front (which we did almost every morning and evening), it is easy and you definitely don't need a car!
We have stayed at Ekolu 3 times and we love it! I would say that you definitely need a car as Wailea itself is a bit far from everything. The beaches are fantastic for snorkelling (and diving).
I hope this helps:)
