Nice and practical place to stay in Mindo. Biohostal organize birdwatching (the host himself or other bird guide). Very helpful with advice for further trip in Ecuador. We traveled mainly by bicycle.
We stayed Oct. 16-19 in a City View Double Room (king bed, large room, large private bathroom and balcony on 3rd floor). Luis and his staff were professional, kind, helpful and welcoming. The included breakfast was delicious and completely filling. The location was just outside...More
We stayed in Bio Hostal for 2 nights while we stayed in Mindo. We seemed to be the only guests. It was a nice hostal which was close to the town center, with a good pressure shower and a nice breakfast, and we even got...More

Never judge a book by its cover. The hostal is near the end of a dirt road and looks kind of rough. Inside is a lovely, clean dining area. The rooms are spacious and CLEAN! Your room gets cleaned daily because of the bugs. Mindo...More

There are 3 or more buses per day directly to Mindo center from Ophelia bus station in the north of Quito. However I would recommend taking the ecovia (25 cents) which travels from the old town along 6 decembre to Rio Coco station, transfering to the large northstation (terreste norte) in Carcelen, and taking any bus going to the coast that will stop at top of hill near Mindo. Then take a taxi into town. There is always a bus leaving along this route with minimal wait, no worries about advance purchases or schedule, quick and easy.
