Hacienda San Vicente, more commonly known as the Yellow House, is a great place to stay. Our room (in the main house) was spacious with a clean and large bathroom (warm water!) in a nice wooden building. There was WIFI in our room. The owners are really nice ladies, who are very helpful in finding your best affordable options to visit...

I stayed in the main Yellow House at San Vincente. The location, private and quiet yet a 5 minute walk to the main plaza in town, was very convenient . The grounds are wet and verdant and attract many species of Hummingbirds and a resident emerald Roufous Mot Mot that feeds on the bananas left out for him.He was spectacular...

Because: good, hot shower, wifi, trails in the forest, which normally cost 6 $, but are free if you stay at their place. Nice gardens, a swimming hole, very good place to relax, close to the centre of mindo, and they have 200 hectares land!

If you want to stay at a working hacienda, this is a good opportunity. For the second year in a row we rented the River Cabin for a month-long stay. The spacious house has two bedrooms upstairs and two below. There are bathrooms on each level and a large kitchen, and balconies. The kitchen is very well supplied with a...

We stayed here in late June 2014 and loved the location - 10 minute walk to Mindo. Mindo is a 2 1/2 hour bus ride from Quito - cost about $2.50. The ladies who run the place are kind and helpful. Have lots of info on flora and fauna. They speak mainly Spanish. Breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, fruit...

A great place to stay in a lovely town (it is 10 mins walk from the town centre). We saw stunning birds and mammals on the grounds, and the walks through the cloud forests were great. The women who run the Yellow House are lovely, so helpful and friendly. They give free maps of the area and have loads of...

My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon. We loved the town and Hacienda San Vicente. We had a great breakfast daily with fresh fruit, fresh squeezed fruit juice, and a great view of birds. The trails were great, but did take a while to hike up to. The property was covered in guava trees which was...

My husband and I stayed at the yellow house (upstairs) in February of this year. The accommodations are comfortable and clean, but basic. If you want luxury this is not the place for you. This "house" is a assembly of various units built on a farm. As the previous reviewer have stated it is a beautiful short walk into town...

Hacienda San Vicente (Yellow House) is an ideal place to stay in Mindo, especially if you are a keen bird-watcher. It is located on the outskirts of Mindo, just 5-10 minute walk from the restaurants and shops in the centre of the village. And yet, it is surrounded by luxuriant cloud forest for which Mindo is justly famous. The birdlife...
