From the moment we arrived we were greated by our friendly host John. The fire was ready to light, a food basket with wine and the hot spa was on waiting for us. A lovely cabin in a private location and it was the perfect getaway especially when combined with our first ballon flight and a wonderful trip through the... More

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at John's wonderful cottages and it could not have been more relaxing. A stunning 2 hour drive from Sydney stopping at local vineyards and coffee shops and restaurants he had recommended. We had a very warm welcome, and there was a lovely bottle of wine and breakfast basket waiting in the... More

Myself and two girlfriends stayed at Cottages on Mount View over the long weekend and had a very chilled stay. John nipped up to say hello and gave us information on local walks... we headed out into the bush and trekked up to the Great North Divide which led to Bimbadeen lookout which was only about 6km away (albeit up... If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay that’s a bit different then this is your place, its clean and comfortable, good sized living/dining room but not overly roomy bedrooms and not that far away from the all that the Hunter Valley has to offer and has a great breakfast basket. The negatives, driving in and out especially at... More

We are glad you had an enjoyable and relaxing stay in our clean and comfortable cottage with breakfast provided and free firewood. Our property can be reached via sealed roads with the exception of the last 1.8kms which is unsealed but regularly graded and maintained. Wi-Fi in the Hunter Valley is patchy, but it does allow for a true weekend... More

We stayed in July with young children and it was incredibly cold, there needs to be back up heating for when the log fire goes out . The hot tub was lovely and the location itself although peaceful lacked facilities and walking tracks, it is out of the way and an Hour round trip to get to pokolbin so think... More

Thank you for reviewing your stay 10 months ago in early July 2015. We are pleased you enjoyed the private outdoor heated spa and our peaceful location, though we are disappointed you were unable to find any walks on our 120 acre property. July is in the middle of the Australian winter when the temperatures are at their lowest, so... More

Great cottage - clean, private, quiet, well-equipped. The welcome was lovely. The breakfast basket was perfect - great quality good and abundant. Good location to explore the Hunter region and a great location to drink a bottle or two at the end of a long day touring the wineries. Highly recommended!

We had a nice stay in a beautiful environment in the cottages on mount view in ( near ) Hunter Valley. John is a welcoming host. Cottages were cozy. The food basket we got in the morning was a nice gesture. The cottage was very clean. Surroundings are nice and quiet, great nature. There are few minuses, for this price... More

We are pleased you enjoyed family time at Christmas in our beautiful environment, welcomed in part, by a mob of kangaroos lazing in the sunshine, and we are glad you found the cottage clean and quiet. The coffee machine in your cottage is only 3 months old and we regularly update toasters, kettle, microwaves, crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils.... More

We are pleased you enjoyed the cottage and the private spa for a nice quiet break from city life. Our abundant birdlife and wildlife is testament to our peaceful and serene surrounds. Mobile phone coverage in the Hunter Valley is variable, particularly in rural areas, and guests are welcome to use our landline for important calls. More
