So we went in July to the Lodge and once our navman got us there was quite surprised at the quaint setting. We arrived early (pre-arranged) and got settled in and changed. We noted that the carparking was quite tight as the local limo service is parked there. We got the A frame room upstairs away from the main lodge....

We had a large family room, so much space, we sleep 6 but the space allowed for more if needed, room had so many amenities including a dish washer, would have been comfortable staying for a long visit, will be returning for a longer stay when we can, it was great.

It wasn't clear when I booked the room that there were no bathrooms in room, waking up to pee in the middle of be night and having to dress up to go down stairs is not my idea of a good accommodation, sorry but I would never stay here again. Friendly staff is the only reason I gave another star,...

thank you for your review. I am continually working with third party websites to make it clear on the 4 rooms that there is shared bathroom facility. We may take them off these sites and just sell through our own in future. So I hope this will be clearer for future bookers. For the record rooms5,6,7 & yellow. The rest...

Me and my wife wanted to get out of the city for the night as it was our anniversary, and had a nice lunch planned just up the road at a local vineyard. So we booked a night at the Warkworth Lodge. We stayed in the pink room, which is spacious, has a comfy bed, ensuite and television. Even though...

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We truly appreciate this as our next step is to do the carpet and then on to the decor. We plan to keep a kiwi villa theme to continue our point of difference, and keeping in mind the balance between funky and old is a challenge to get right. We hope to see you...

Good position for walking into village, with pub on the corner serving good reasonable food. Pool looked nice but too cold for me! I didn't try the hot tub so can't comment. Nice lounge, self-catering kitchen and outside garden area, all spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Bathroom was upstairs from my room (yellow room) which was a bit inconvenient although toilet...

We stayed one night on our way from Bay of Islands to Waitomo. The hotel is a converted period house and still has a huge lounge and kitchen for guests to use. Also has a swimming pool and hot tub. We used the kitchen to cook dinner. It was well equipped. Spacious rooms and the owners were very helpful with...

Loved this lodge. House is lovely, large, old colonial style. Room was beautiful - décor, bedding etc. we had our own little section of outside deck area. Had no problem with the immaculate communal kitchen arrangements and the huge sitting/dining - a great chance to meet other guests - just what holidays are for. Lovely garden and pool. Only negative...

Décor was tired, patio furniture grey with age, windows would not open properly and room was extremely hot. Had to pay an additional $80 for an ensuite bathroom, which is included in basic motels. Thankfully we only stayed one night.

We stayed here one night on our way from Northland to Coromandel. It has a very tired look and the room was no better than OK. The restaurant was as good a place as any to eat in the town. The location has little to recommend it. Be ready for traffic jams at almost any time of the day.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We agree there has been some heavy weekend traffic recently along state highway 1 and heading back from Beaches in the late afternoon. However I would like to think that it is due to the popularity of the region and the many things to do here. I hope you received...

Very friendly, informative owner, lovely building and awesome communal kitchen. However, walls are paper thin, traffic noises were substantial, the shared bathroom did not have a sink and there was no toilet paper in the middle of the night. Sorry, but we will not be coming back.

Hello thank you for taking the time to place a review, we appreciate your thoughts. Most of our rooms have private ensuites and are very quiet however our flashpacker rooms have shared facilities and two have road noise. We have priced them at $75 to $115 accordingly. However we find some of the third party websites do not state our...
