What a lovely place to stay! We stayed for two nights with Jonathan and Julie at Ribbonwood Retreat. We had the self contained cottage at the back of the property, which was roomy, yet homely. The views of the surrounding hills and mountains were spectacular (even when cloudy!) and the land that the cottage is set on is beautiful. The...

Hosts Julie & Jo provided us with a warm welcome. Although we hadn’t advised them of our arrival time; it felt as if they had been waiting for us all day long as they greeted us with hot drinks and freshly baked cinnamon bread on their terrace! It’s the small stuff that makes all the difference: our names on the...

Ribbonwood is not just a hotel but was quite home. We were the same comfortable as being at home. The beautiful house in the field is well-located being both peaceful and convenient to glaciers. We were supplied with one comfortable bedroom and one storage room and two bathrooms. Additionally we were permitted to use the kitchen. It looked as if...

We stayed over a wonderful night at Ribbonwood in May this year. Accommodation is clean and comfortable. The owners are warm and very friendly. They make recommendations to us, cook a delicious breakfast for us with their fresh homegrown fruits, share with us their travel stories and show us their lovely farm.

We had both the Waiho rooms on the second floor of the main house which was very comfortable, clean, private and had spectacular views. Jon and Julie were very knowledgable with the area and gave us great recommendations of activities and places to eat in town. Not to mention their breakfasts were superb, using lots of ingredients from their garden....

We stayed one evening at the Ribbonwood Retreat, while traveling south on the west coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Accommodations were clean and certainly updated (the private bathroom is quite large and luxurious). Our stay was in a room adjacent to the attractive main home of owners Julie and Jonathan, who welcomed us in for a late...

At the end of February we spent a delightful couple of days in the cottage at Ribbonwood. Considering that one of the days was a massive rain storm, to say that it was “delightful” tells you the warmth of our hosts, Julie and Jo, and the comfort of the cottage. Julie gave us a wonderful suggestion - the West Coast...

Stayed with Julie and Jonathan in March by accident as there had been a mix up with our accommodation in Franz Josef. Fortunately for me they could accommodate me for one night. I had a ground floor double room which was one whole area of their lovely home including a patio off the bedroom. Julie and Jonathan were so kind...

Awesome B&B. This home is a home that clearly Jonathon and his partner take pride. The bedrooms are very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the bed was so comfy. I would stay again no Q answered. It is on the main road just outside of Franz so the location is convenient and easy to find. The view looks out over the...

We arrived at Ribbonwood Retreat on a cloudy day in March and were greeted by Julie who immediately warmed us up with hot coffee, tea and homemade bread. There were 3 of us in our party and we were given the entire upstairs with a huge master bedroom, a spacious second bedroom and a spacious and bright bathroom. The sitting...
