We like this place. The rooms are above average, the breakfast good and the staff nice. We were en route to Florida and stayed here after 620 miles of traveling. Perfect location We recommend it to others.
We were travelling to Orlando from Ontario Ca for three month stay over the winter. We stopped at this hotel where we had made reservations 2 months before. We had asked for ground floor King Suite but when we got there they didn't have one left. They moved us into a suite that had black markings all over the floor. We didn't want them to think we had done it so told them at the desk and the girl said yes we know about that. My husband said well my wife would prefer a clean one and she said I will discount your room when you check out in the morning. It was quite clear that there were some homeless people living there full time and since it was New Years Eve we stayed in our room to be safe for the night. The next day when we checked out the boy on the desk said he didn't know anything about a discount and he had no authority to do it. Needless to say this will be our last time at a La Quinta in Macon Georgia or probably any where. Very disappointed!!!!…
Always stayed at La Quinta going and coming to Florida. Will not stay again . Will choose a hotel with more comfortable pillows and a lower bed. Will choose a hotel with healthy breakfast choices ie: juice, fruit, oatmeal yogurt.
We had two major issues this trip. Our vehicle was broken into with 2 windows smashed & our wallets stolen. We were 1 of 5 that night. Previous to our stay they had 6 break ins. The staff never said a thing when we checked in and they wouldn’t even consider a refund. We were 900 miles from home with broken windows and no credit cards. In addition to that a $25. dog fee was implemented after our reservation and they never notified us until we checked in. The biggest issue for us is a problem with theft at the hotel. We won’t be staying here again.
We used to love visiting the W Macon LaQ ten years ago. Easy on/off I-75. Welcoming of dogs. Good breakfast. It seems no money has been spent refreshing the rooms in ten years, and more care needs to be give to cleaning the room carpet. Beds were comfortable. Looking forward to their renovation ... hope one is scheduled
We stay here almost every time we go through Georgia. The facility is always clean, rooms have everything you need, property is clean and safe. Breakfast is always a plus. And for travelers with pets, they allow them. The hotel is right off interstate 475 with plenty of food and shopping choices within minutes from the hotel.
Not sure of her name but the front desk clerk was rude as heck! We had an initial encounter that was acceptable but once we settled in and ordered our food this woman stopped our Uber delivery person at the lobby and called our room. My wife politely notified her that we had specifically instructed our delivery person to please bring the food up to our room as we have carried out successfully many times before at LaQuinta Inns across the SE United States. She rudely said to my wife “OH NO!” That’s not our policy!” We have an extremely autistic 15 year old daughter who is extremely hard to handle and we do this consistently for good reason as she is very strong and it requires both of our attendance in our room for safety. It was her approach to the situation that was unprofessional and rude. It was uncalled for altogether. I informed her that there are state laws protecting people with handicaps and she didn’t seem to care at all. She could have spoken to us with respect, considered the situation and there would have not been an issue but she is obviously incapable of conducting herself in a respectful manner. Perhaps she could use a corporate anger management class.…
Traveled from Chicago to Florida. had stayed at LaQuinta several years ago. Used to be pet friendly with no fee now $25 fee. Out of desperation we paid $135 for 4 hours of sleep plus pet fee. Hostess was less than friendly, breakfast was slop. total bill $186. WOW. found out online that nearby hotels , i.e., Best Western, Hampton, Couryard etc. were around $74. Goodbye LQ nevermore. nevermore
Called the hotel to verify the pet policy as many LQs are changing them and becoming very pet UNfriendly. Hotel verified they had no pet fee so we booked. After a long day on the road arrived at the hotel about 6pm. Upon check in we were told the pet policy had changed and we were going to be charged $25 for our dog. We explained to, Amy, the woman at the front desk that when we made our reservation we had been told there was no pet fee and could it be waived. She became extremely hostile, told us cancel our reservation. We tried to do that but since it was past the 4:30 cutoff for canceling a reservation it was not possible. We tired once again to reason with Amy and she became more hostile. We asked to speak to a manager and she said there was not one who would agree with us and there was absolutely no way for the fee to be waived. The night was getting later and later, we needed to get sleep to get on the road again so we checked in. In the morning Anita, at the front desk, was very helpful and upon hearing of our experience the evening before graciously waived the pet fee. We have stayed at this hotel every year for eight years on our way to FL and it was always great. Not anymore. This is the last time, unless they change their pet policy and their evening staff.…
Very tired looking. The bathroom was not good: -no counter on which to place toiletries - hair dryer broken - shower was GROSS; there was a wall-mounted shower chair for the disabled, and it had mold all over it! YUCK! I did not go in! My biggest beef was the fact that they suddenly instituted a $25 pet fee that week with no communication whatsoever. LQ has never charged pet fees, and that is the only reason we choose them since we traveled with a small dog. Despite the fact that I made this reservation long ago, and verified with them that there was no pet fee, they refused to remove it from our bill. There was not a manager on site with whom to address this.
