A nice break from staying at hotel chains on our drive to Florida. The neighborhood is filled with gorgeous mansions- pretty amazing. Hotel from the minute you walk in makes you feel welcome. It’s a quirky hotel- more like a B & B but better. Gloria took very good care of us and our dogs. The bed was so comfortable and the shower has great pressure. Fun spot!
Lovely historical inn - hardwood floors & rooms filled with antiques. Warm staff & cozy room. Complimentary breakfast in our room. Cup of coffee for the road. Easy check in, all the staff so lovely. Loved it!
Excellent B&B and service 👍👍 My wife and I live local and was looking for a close get away. We could not have stayed at a better place to relax. There’s nothing I can really add that others haven’t already. Top notch 5 star all around. We will be back soon. 1842 inn is 5star. AJS
This is a CHARMING historic Inn! When I write charming I am including the building, rooms, decor, outside, and the people who run and work the Inn too!!! Gloria, Charles, EJ, Rachel and Lance plus the chef and all of the rest of the staff were kind and pleasant our entire stay!! We want to come back and we will tell friends and neighbors! Macon was fun too, as a westerner, to experience southern charm at its finest! We brought our licensed well-behaved therapy dog and his new little mini-me and could not have been happier walking to the cute little park down the street.
We were a little apprehensive at arrival. The host made us feel so welcome and comfortable!!! The best thing! They were so attentive and the breakfast was wonderful. Great service made it a pleasure!!!!The only comment is I recommend the bathrooms be upgraded!!
While looking for a B & B while on a road trip, we discovered the 1842 Inn. The inn is absolutely beautiful with period antiques and many rooms on the first floor to relax or meet with others. We stayed in the large carriage house behind the main house and were pleasantly surprised to have a very large room with a king size bed and full sofa and large closet and attached bath. The bed was very comfortable and we felt like royalty. Our delicious breakfast the next day was served on the terrace located between the main house and carriage house. The inn is located on College St. which has many beautiful historical mansions and is actually part of several blocks of homes on the registry of historic places. We will be back!
Staying at this Inn in Macon is like staying at an old southern plantation home. The gardens and patio are gorgeous. The appetizers on the front porch in the evenings were wonderful! We loved that our little dog was welcomed too.
From the room to the staff all are above and beyond. From the pleasant greeting when we arrived at 12:30 am to the daily hellos and good mornings.if you are looking for a pleasant environment and a feel great attitude this is the place. The room was well appointed with deluxe towels and the most comfortable bed I have had the pleasure of sleeping in. Warm comfort and southern hospitality a full bar and evening appetizers this place has it all.
Fabulous hotel. From check in to check out everything was flawless. Met by Gloria who could not do enough for us. Bedroom was gorgeous, clean and everything you would expect from an historic gem of a hotel. There is an honesty bar with more bourbon variety’s than you imagined were made! Gloria kept wine and mini hors d'oeuvre flowing as we chatted with other guests in the beautiful lounge. Breakfast was fabulous. Beautifully cooked and presented. Attentive staff without being overly intrusive. Wonderful grand dame of a hotel, staffed by people who love they’re job. I cannot recommend it more highly.
If you ever are passing through Macon and need a place to stay or if you are looking for a romantic getaway 1842 Inn is the perfect place to stay. Full disclosure, I would not bring young children here. You feel like you are spending the night in a museum. It is a beautiful antebellum home, with immaculate landscaping, with rooms and rooms of old beautiful furniture. Even the bedrooms were amazing. Enjoy free non-alcoholic drinks and hors d’oeurves on the veranda or inside in the parlor. If you taste is more towards the stronger stuff, they have an outstanding bourbon selection. Delicious breakfast with many options (even gluten free). Gloria, the host is a treasure. I could not recommend this place more. Lots of pictures included
