Do not stay here. My car was broken into at this property the first night of my stay. I alerted the front desk and was told to call the police and my insurance company. I called and reported it and then noticed there was cameras around my car. The general manager Rikard, met me with distain and rudeness when he told me that the camera was disabled, despite there being common break ins on this property to the housekeepers. The cameras at the entrance were on, but in the 5-10 minutes I was calling the police and my insurance company I was told he had already looked though 5-8 hours of camera footage? Which is very unlikely. I had valuable goods stolen, and my back windshield completely shattered. Rikard did not have any empathy over the matter, which is vital to working in the hospitality industry. Just disappointed overall.

Hotel's Favourite
They are really underselling their rooftop terrace at this hotel, which allows for gorgeous views of both the mountains with sunset hitting them, and the actual sunset over Salt Lake City. Chairs are super comfy, with sturdy tables for poker or your dinner. We spent as much time as possible on this open air third floor rooftop - there is a road with some traffic, but it dies down as the night goes on. Room was comfy with a good mattress which is normal for Hampton (hard to understand the other reviews on the mattresses...), and clean. Front desk clerk (male, light hair) was super friendly and clued us to My Pie Pizzeria which was wonderful - we gave him our leftovers (hopefully enjoyed). Location is jointly with a Verizon store, in case you need attention from them. About 20 minutes from the airport with a much better view than expected. Air conditioner seemed to be locked at 71 degrees, which was a bummer for sleeping, but otherwise fine. Breakfast normal Hampton.

Our memories of excellent Hampton properties are fading with another very average stay. This house is buried in strip mall like corner property with reasonably good access to the university and surrounding properties. Parking is in an open multilevel garage. Our room looked out on a cemetery, but there is a hidden outside terrace on the 3rd floor that has pleasant long views of the valley and mountains. While the room was well serviced everyday, check in, while efficient, was utterly uninspired. The lobby and breakfast area was the typical attractive Hampton formula. There is a very small indoor pool and exercise area, along with business office, self serve laundry and sundries/snack shop. A previous commentator mentioned the loose rippled hall carpets, which still exist on every floor- not sure what going on there. Our room was a medium sized double queen with a small bathroom. It was attractively decorated with multiple pieces of art. The room had a medium flatscreen with good channel selection, complementary internet, a refer and microwave. The room had no safe and completely forgettable in room coffee service. HVAC and lighting worked well, with sufficient outlets. Our toilet was not working well, which was repaired when we identified the problem. The bed and linens were good as were the toiletries. The towels were small and thin- not impressed. The second floor ice machine was not working. The complementary breakfast was of average quality and selection - waffels, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, breads and juice/coffe. Meat and eggs one day and potatoes and a muffin concoction the next. At nearly $180 per night an average value at best. Maybe I need to reset my expectations of Hampton properties.

The staff were welcoming & helpful at this Hampton Inn. However, I must grade this property lower than usual for 2 reasons: 1. Breakfast was not consistent. On our first day it was barely passable: only 1 kind of cereal (the overly sugary kid kind); egg option was nearly all bread -some sort of bread base with light schmear of egg & some tiny pieces of meat, basically no protein content; only fruit was way past prime oranges which should have been thrown out, not served. Second day seemed back to usual with bananas, a decent egg entree, several cereal choices, etc. 2. SAFETY ISSUE! Carpets in hallways on floors 1 & 2 had wrinkles in them, thus uneven walking surface. They should have been restretched or replaced. This is a MAJOR TRIPPING HAZARD THAT COULD RESULT IN A LAWSUIT IF SOMEONE GETS INJURED DURING THEIR STAY!! Item #2 is SERIOUS health hazard & should be disqualifying for this place to remain open.

Very old buiding but clean. The handicap room was for anyone except handycap. The room was nice and quiet and spacious. The ac was not directly over us, which was nice. The free breakfast, I would not feed to a homeless person. The coffee was like drinking hot water with very little flavor. This was the most expensive Hamoton we ever stayed in, the most difficult to find, and was furthest from all the consciences that we were used to.

Originally we were scheduled to stay downtown but decided on this location. Right across street from grocery store, about 8 minutes from downtown and near many nice restaurants. The hotel itself is nice, clean and personnel accommodating. Breakfast was fine, also. The third floor patio is really something-a place to sit, relax and watch the sunset.

The hotel was very clean and feels like a new place. Front desk and cleaning staff were wonderful. And breakfast personnel did a great job. The pool and hot tub were very clean and well kept. Towels at the pool were plentiful. And had a dedicated bathroom

Has the potential to be a great place but cleaning of the rooms needs to be better. We arrived late the room appeared to be clean until we woke up with stained sheet and a room that needed a good wipe down and maintence to repair the slow draining sink that smelled terrible

GM has piss poor professional skills. If you (as a woman) want to be talked down to and shamed, then maybe this is the place for you. The front desk employees are very nice and kind and patient, it's a shame the boss they have to work under.

I was in Salt Lake City for a surgery, and the location of this hotel was great. Everything was great until after I checked out. I realized I left some personal belongings in the room. I called the hotel and they said they would check the room and check with housekeeping and then call me back. I never heard back from them. I just wish people were more honest.
