Our recent stay for one night was a restful, extremely pleasant, and enjoyable experience. All staff and national park employees were wonderfully pleasant and helpful, ready to engage in friendly conversation. The facilities are showing age, but are scheduled for reparations. The setting is beautiful,...More
This destination may not be for everyone but it was just what my husband and I needed for a two night experience away from the demands of our hectic life. I appreciated the rustically beautiful setting and the fact that there is no cell phone...More
The Chateau is very rustic 1930 style. No TV, cell service or internet. But a nice big fireplace and comfortable lobby to have a glass of wine. Dinner was very good as was breakfast in the very cute diner. Plenty of food at good prices....More
Great hotel in unique location. Very comfortable lounge area and great breakfast restaurant. Dinner was also excellent. Good luck with the refit. I hope hotel retains as much of the character as possible.

Jeanette is correct -- your best bet is to contact the hotel directly; their phone # is 541-592-3400. They have a pretty comprehensive website, easily googled "chateau oregon caves." I don't see anything on it about current renovations -- but, because it is high in the mountains and they have a very short season, from May thru Sept, they're always fixing something. I highly recommend the Chateau; it is well worth the drive up the mountain.
