Enjoyed a couple of nights camping in this campground. They had clean facilities, nice shady campground and well taken care of area. Also, a nice place to go and enjoy the cool river. We spent two relaxing days, met new people and also had time to enjoy our own campsite with no disruptions.

A large group of us decided to camp here with our kids because we thought it would be a safe place for our kids and who doesn’t want to be real close to the river? We rented 4 campsites. I was a little surprised with the price of camping here especially considering they charge you $5 extra a night for having more then 2 kids... but thought “well you get what you pay for so this must be a pretty awesome place!” Boy was I wrong! I quickly realized If you weren’t there to party and float you were probably going to be treated like crap! They harassed some of our group over bracelets falling off and told them they could leave if they didn’t keep them on! Then one of the wife’s went up to the store with her son and was treated like absolute crap! I would never go to this place again! I have never wrote a negative review on anything but I feel like people need to know what to expect when visiting here! No respect for paying customers at all!

This place is an absolute joke!!! I can’t believe the disrespect they have for PAYING customers! The only good thing about this place is when you leave! Don’t believe any of the responses they post, they’re just trying to save face. If you do deicide to stay there good luck! You need to read the reviews before you go! Peoples complaints are very valid and true!! ***SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO A DIFFERENT CAMPGROUND!***

We looked at numerous campgrounds online and I chose this one, best choice ever! The owners are helpful and really nice. We checked in late after getting lost, Shane actually called us to help with directions. We were met at the office, and escorted to our site. So many beautiful trees and the sites were spacious enough for our camper and a large tent. Shane showed us how to get to the river and went over all the rules. He was definitely employee of the year! The campground has bathrooms and showers that were clean and spacious. The store seriously offers anything you would want to buy...liquor,tubes,food,hygiene,ect. Our 3 sons enjoyed exploring and fishing in the creek every day. With four children running around I never worried about safety, Shane keeps a eye on the guests and makes sure who belongs where. We stayed Saturday through Thursday night. Most of our days were spent at the gravel beach playing in the river. It’s a small town and everyone we spoke to was super friendly. Near the end of our stay we told the office we wanted to go tubing, they called and The Landing picked us up at the campground. How convenient is that! The Current River is definitely a beautiful and majestic sight, we gained great respect. Before we left we had a minor incident with our youngest child, when we drove to the office in a panic the owners called 911 for us and did everything they could to comfort our daughter and assure us everything was going to be alright. This was by far the best family vacation we’ve had in years, and worth the 1000 mile drive. If you’re looking to escape and want to be a River Rat or just get away then Current River Campground is the place to go. We have already started planning our next vacation there! If you go be sure and tell Shane hello.

This is a nice campground with lots of good shade, clean bathrooms and shower house, and a friendly staff. Our overall experience was good. I have only one negative to report...We checked out at 11am on Sunday. We had brought our 3 grandkids and 2 of their young cousins on the trip to let them play in the river. We cleaned our site, ad were out on time. Upon departure, I asked if there was a possiblity of paying a fee to let the kids play in the river for a couple more hours. I certanly do not expect this for free. They politely told me that they do not offer simple paid river access. They own the business, and I respect that they have the right to offer or not offer this service, and I also realize that the general public could over run them with simple river access. I think however, that for someone who had just spent two nights in a paid campsite, that they could re-consider this stance. The campground was not nearly sold out, so crowding was not an issue. They did direct us to the public access areas, but the state park access is barricaded off due to damage from last years flood, and the VanBuren public boat ramp area has much too swift of current for small children to play in. Again, I enjoyed myself there, will probably return, I think though they could have chosen to be a little flexible with a paid client, who had 6 paying adults, who paid the campsite fees, the daily fees, and shoped in their store. Campsite # 14

We have camped here for years. It used to be a Jellystone with amenities and the higher prices. They lost that accreditation years ago and it's been down hill ever since. In spite of the downhill trend of this campground the prices have remained high. At best it's worth $25 a night, not the $45 they charge. To further their decline the campground has been plagued with flooding. Basically it's a rocky area with hook-ups. Yes it's located on the river and that's it's only redeeming quality. We were told by fellow campers their dump station was no longer functioning but they allowed dumping at open sites. When leaving we went to the office to see if we could dump at an open site. We were told most people just used the honey wagon for an additional $15 charge. Whaaat! $45 a night plus we have to pay to dump? There are a lot of beautiful campgrounds in this area that we will use in the future. You will definitely get more for your money elsewhere.

We had items stolen from our campsite! Bathrooms were overcrowded and having trouble with commodes getting clogged! It's expensive for no more than they have to offer! No picnic table or grill onsite! They charged us 12.50 per person per night, $ 40 per campsite, and an additional $20 deposit, which we got back thank God! Non friendly staff, with lack of concern for our troubles and theft of property! No enforcement of quiet time! Totally not worth our time and money to go here and we will never go back!!!

We called all over the area trying to find a place to camp and site #2 at the Current River Campground was all we could find..so we took it! We had never camped here before so we weren't sure what we would experience. The owners are VERY nice and helpful and the camp guard(Shane) couldn't have been nicer and more helpful!!! Site #2 was 'ok'. I liked the fact that it was next to the camp guard, but it had rained the night before we got there and since that site does not have much grass... it was muddy. Most of the sites are grassy and looked great. It is a very nice campground. There are several river outlets in the campground. Some better than others. The current river is VERY swift, which makes it an awesome river to float. It is wide, crystal clear, deep and cold. Definitely will go again and would recommend it to friends!!

We have stayed at this campground many times over the years. The owners are great people. Campground is well run and there are rules to help us families have a good time while we people watch the wild people. Camping fee and then they charge by the person. They are good about accommodating crowds in one site or keeping everyone together. They usually have live music on Saturday nights and fireworks on the 4th. I have 3 teenagers and they love this place. For tubing- If you have 2 cars, take one to beginning of river with your own tubes and you will float all day till you land back at this campground. We bought float chairs off amazon for just for these trips. So pay to camp but tubing is free this way. Or you can rent tubes nearby and be shuttled. Alcohol is allowed in camp and on river. Ranger patrol the river frequently so keep it legal, no glass bottles or drugs or fighting. Several great places to eat nearby. Hurry up- what are you waiting for? Go have fun!
