We had a wonderful weekend stay at Knolle. We stayed in the Crow's Nest and the bed was very comfy. We enjoyed the kayaking and the pool. We had the veggie lasagna which was delicious. Alma was very nice and helpful. We hope to stay at Knolle again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet and secluded place with cows and many birds being our only interaction other than breakfast delivered by the chef in the morning. With that said, it was disappointing to arrive and drive around trying to figure out where to check in - turned out that the owners would be away the entire time of our stay leaving the chef in charge, and he had left messages at home on our landline; we were exploring the area for the first time and would have appreciated input from locals. In fact, we were the only ones on the entire property, so we had to more or less fend for ourselves. The only other disappointment was having to do our own breakfast dishes each morning, and what seemed to be many dos and don'ts of staying on the property. Be aware, as far as we know, there are no places to eat very close by and the choice of what is nearby is limited, and it takes about 20-30 minutes to reach parts of Corpus Christi. Despite some of these minor issues, this is definitely a place we would return to, and we'd stay for more than 3 nights. My husband rented a bike in Austin and enjoyed riding the many country roads in the area and if you are a birder, like me, you'll enjoy your stay even more.

My wife and I stayed reserved the Casita for our anniversary. The place is great and very private. The staff was very nice and accommodating to our needs. They even upgraded us to a bigger sweet so we could use the full kitchen at no charge. I would definitely recommend this place.

We were very pleased with this hidden location. Outdoor chapel at a lake, hot and humid but lovely site. Drinks and meal were very good from their own caterer. Space available for dancing, but a little short on tables.

Thank you, Corky, for taking the time to write this kind review and allow us to look into your possible concerns. It is a beautiful place and we are very blessed! Yes, in South Texas it can be a big muggy, particularly if showers are around as they have been lately. Really though, it is usually cooler here as we have a lovely breeze. I am not sure at which wedding you might have been a guest; but, I am glad you could visit Knolle Farm. On the table situation, I am not sure how we had it set up. If it was a "typical" wedding here, we always have out about 30% more seating than is needed, as it is usually divided among inside, outside, and patio portions, so that guests may roam and sit wherever they like..inside or out, or both. (This is a really quite a large facility with lots of fun nooks and crannies and seating everywhere; so, I am not sure if you saw it all..) If it was at our most recent wedding, (Briana's), we did have set tables indoors with china and stemware, so that we did have the exact correct number of seats, as they had to be set with full "proper" placement of such. Additionally we had seating outdoors for appetizers; but, we might not have had a full 85 + chairs & tables outdoors, (as well as that number indoors also). Often times too, the amount of extra seating is designated by the bride and her family, who are they final 'word" on the amount of seating, (also based on the decor budget for table arrangements and such.) Anyway, I appreciate greatly your ideas and input. I will see how we might remedy it, short of having a full double number of tables to facilitate all areas.

Spent three of the most relaxing and enjoyable family vacation days that we have in years. We've lived in several countries and visited around 40 countries between us and its been at least a dozen years since we had a more relaxing and enjoyable time as a family. We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and a short time after arrival were walking around the ranch. Ran into the owner Stephen who was on a run to check the cattle and do a little fishing and he invited us along for a tour as he made his rounds. Trip took about an hour riding around seeing the farm and ranch. Ended up fishing a making some smores on an open fire for the rest of the day. Entire family slept 9 hours for the first time in more than ten years, of course that meant we missed our canoeing and kayaking in the river for day two. Breakfast was better than any hotel and the attention to detail was impeccable. Ended up fishing in the morning and going to the nearest town for lunch. Visited with Beth, Stephen's wife and the boss around there when she mentioned Stephen was getting some guns for some sort of shooting event. Stephen had mentioned in passing shooting some skeet the day before. He took the entire family and our two teenage sons and myself shoot skeet for quite some time. Again we ended the day with some fishing and smores. Another 9 hour sleep and guess what, again no canoeing or kayaking, which by the way we never found time to do because we were having to much fun just being a family. We went antique shopping in Corpus Christi instead(the boys idea not mine, they love it). The company Chief Joe prepared beautiful steaks, with green beans and squash blossoms with his twist on bread pudding. No smores so a little fire time and bed. Unfortunately a storm came through our last night and keep the family up for several hours, I can sleep through anything so only lost about 20 minutes sleep. The little Chapel View house didn't have a single issue and withstood a storm that did significant damage throughout the region. We will go back, in fact I've been trying for three years to get in for our anniversary in September with no luck and this was our first successful attempt to get a spot. It is worth the trip and the stay is whatever you make it out to be.
