My girlfriend and I stayed at Route 66, twice, in September. We found the weekend manager, Jahmar, a most welcoming, interesting, and helpful guy. Both times, we rented a private room, with bathroom. Though a little run-down, the room, the kitchen, and the common room were comfortable. The kitchen featured free coffee, eggs, milk, hot and cold cereal, a gas...

This building is old & full of character. The staff was always helpful, and gracious with information & insight. As typical with hostels it's always fun connecting with other visiting from throughout the world. Located just down the street from old town and a short bus ride away from UNM.

Friendly, accommodating staff, comfortable rooms. Staff was kind enough to allow us to extend our leave time but recommend extending time to vacate room to 11:30 instead of 10:30. Bathrooms could stand a little polishing with bleach. Recommend staying in rooms away from noisy street.

Not the worst hostel but could definitely be better. It's in a very old house so everything's a bit run down. Beds in dorms are super uncomfortable, no air conditioning and bugs in the kitchen. However there is a decent breakfast included, it's a good location and the guys on the staff are great! Plus it's the only hostel in...

Stayed for one night in a pleasantly tiny single room with common bathrooms. Had a good night's sleep after a long drive. Unbeatable price. Very laid-back old hostel, evidently not much upkeep, which I consider positive because too much fussing about renovations and house rules would likely destroy the relaxed atmosphere. Lots of books everywhere, old furniture and miscellaneous decorative...

This place has serious potential, but feels a bit tired and lazy. The property has everything you'd want in a hostel. It is spacious and in a location that is desirable for getting around the town. The upkeep and energy is poor to mediocre... with more TLC this place could be special. The bunkroom and bathroom are pretty sad and...

Words cannot express my total disappointment with this place... But I will try my best! If I could give it a zero-rating, I would. Seriously. I have traveled and stayed at several hostels, both here in the States and overseas. NEVER have I been so disappointed. Hostels are unique, and always call for some flexible thinking and adjustment to their...

Met the coolest people in this hostel. Really friendly open folk from all different places and backgrounds. Staff were helpful, location was handy. Had somewhere to park my bike which was nice. All in all a cool place and a cool street to stay on

I pretty much try to stay in hostels wherever I go. But my last visit here I got the feeling the owners were mocking backpack travelers. The best hostels are simple, clean and bright. This place looks like they have gone out of their way to install curtains that don't fit. My mattress and box spring were mismatched and the...

People - good; location - acceptable if you have a car ; price - acceptable ; condition of the building - really, really tired and dark . My first impression of the inside of the house was that it was very dark with too many tiny rooms narrow hallways and creaking floors. Maybe like going to your great aunts house...
